The house is surrounded by farms and has excellent views. We are just over 2km from Franschhoek Village, so in easy access. If you do not want to drive, you can get around very easily on the Tuk-Tuk or hire a bicycle to enjoy a leisurely drive around the village and valley. You can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at Cafe Bon Bon who are our neighbours. Access is through a private gate a short walk through our vineyards. Sandstone house is located in the quiet corner of Franschhoek with very little traffic noise as there is no through traffic. The guest suite is in Sandstone House. We had a lovely stay at Mario’s, the space was perfect for my husband and I and our toddler. Great private patio with bbq and lovely master bedroom with sofa in it. Kitchen was small but fine for us. Mario was an excellent host - very responsive and helpful but never intrusive. Location was a walk to the coast path, one local restaurant and fernkloof, but otherwise a short drive into town / main beaches so car was recommended. Thanks for a very happy holiday, we’d definitely return :)

5 star stay ⭐️.Helpful, friendly, smooth check in . View on both sides , mountain & ocean 👌. Linen & towels 5 star ⭐️.Bed so comfy 👌. Tiny problem which was sorted out in minutes 🙌. Don’t bother looking else where this is the place to stay . Little bit out of town but lovely & peaceful . Cliff walk which Eunice recommends is a must . 1 hour into Hermanus , easy walking . Also if you like in the town .. check out Goozi apartment which they also have & is walkable to everything . All in all both places 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Thank you both & we would love to revisit in the future 🙏🙏🙏

The two hosts Helen and Owen are very warm people, it was very easy to feel comfortable there quickly. We had the apartment with its own kitchen and private terrace. There is also a shared kitchen that we could have used. Our wet things could be placed and dried in the garden. There is plenty of space. And since we were there for Christmas, Helek had even baked for everyone. It was a very nice stay.

what a gem! The guest suite is beautiful. Brian was welcoming and full of local information which was invaluable. We visited a few of the recommended vineyards as well as local restaurants and cafes and they did not disappoint. Highlights included Vrede en Lust for brunch, The French bistro for dinner and The Blue Correander for a curry. The Mad Hatter was a great spot to have a relaxing drink whilst listening to live music. Thank you Brian for welcoming us to your beautiful area. Hope to return to do more of the recommendations!
