Cottage retreat in isolated Welsh hills - sleeps 4

Priyanka DivekarRating, 5 stars2 days ago
We had a truly wonderful stay at Trish’s beautiful cottage nestled among the hills. The house itself was stunning, featuring charming wooden interiors and thoughtful design throughout. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Trish and Ian were incredibly friendly and welcoming hosts. They gave us great recommendations for scenic walks with breathtaking mountain views. They even took the time to show us their other nearby properties, which were equally impressive - especially the one with the huge, cozy fireplace and beautiful architecture. One of the highlights of our trip was spending time with the lovely farm animals especially Jerry the pony, who absolutely stole our hearts! We also met some friendly chickens and George, their lovable dog. For those who prefer not to interact with animals, there’s no pressure but our group of four loved the experience and were grateful to be allowed to meet them. Highly recommend this beautiful stay!

Cottage - Rural/Animal Retreat

JonRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Spent the weekend staying in the cottage. The cottage is lovely, comfortable and charming. Felicity was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The farm is lovely we didn’t tire of watching the pony’s at our window! We came to adventure and the pack that has been put together by the host of areas to visit was very useful. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful and I would be more than happy to recommend this retreat to anyone wanting to get out to enjoy some of the majestic sights of the Brecon Beacons. We had a great stay and will hopefully return again for a visit in future.

The Glass House, Llangorse Lake, Brecon Beacons

ConnorRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Came here for my wife’s birthday weekend. Started with just us, the dog and the baby which the place was perfect for a little family break but for the last 2 nights a family member had the baby and our friends arrived and we had a great time in the hot tub, at the local pubs and walking and boating in the lake. The place was gorgeous and we had to perfect weather to make use of the spacious garden and bbq. Couldn’t fault the place, we met Deri’s mother Marg and the two farm dogs Max and Jess and they couldn’t have been friendlier. Couldn’t have been happier and we will hopefully be back!

A retreat cottage with meadow views

EllieRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Wow, what a gem of a place. We had a wonderful couple of days stay with our whippet whilst we explored Brecon and did some hiking up Pen-y-Fan. The location was great for this. The courage was just perfect, so peaceful and it had everything we needed and more. It was ideal for our dog as he could be let off lead in the cottage and garden and had two secure fields and a stream to run around and play in. We loved the visiting pheasants and hedgehog. Gabrielle was a fantastic host and even helped to provide a stand for the bbq that we’d brought with us. We will definitely be returning for another stay. Can’t recommend it highly enough for a relaxing stay away from the TV and internet.

Caitlin has a wonderful place here. Everything was welcoming, clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The beds were a good middle firmness that felt good to both of us. The location is beautiful and Caitlin was very kind and helpful with where to eat, drink, and visit. We'd highly recommend this stay.

Vale Chestnut - Cottage with stunning views

ClaireRating, 5 stars19 months ago
We had a fantastic week here, the views and setting were just amazing. The accommodation was clean and cosy, Danielle and Tom were great hosts- so friendly and very very responsive and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble! The kids loved the swimming pool and its long opening hours. Although there were other families staying in the other cottages it always felt very tranquil and peaceful with us often having exclusive use of the pool. It was great having a washing machine to use daily, as well as lots of other bonuses. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely fabulous holiday, stunning location, beautiful surroundings and so peaceful/private. The accommodation was amazing, it’s like a tardis inside! We had everything we needed, Sarah had thought of everything. We tried all the activities on site, kayaking, hot tub, bbq, fire pit and walks round the lake, the gorgeous weather helped. The dogs enjoyed all the space to explore and relax on the decking. Sarah is a fantastic host, thank you such such an amazing experience!

Rosedale Cottage | Large Pool!

VictoriaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Such a lovely place for our multigenerational family to enjoy the long weekend together. The highlights were definitely the pool and the large lounge where we spent lots of time together but didn't feel ontop of each other! Richard's excellent communication added to the overall positive experience. We highly recommend this cottage!

Ash Grove Apartment - Llangennith

ChristopherRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Swyn-y-Môr is a perfect location for some wonderful walks on the magical Gower peninsula. Then a swim in the pool and a tropical downpour of a shower afterwards. This unique property with so many artistic features has been crafted by the host, Derek. A modest man with so many talents, we enjoyed our conversations with him, learning about the house, the village and the peninsula. With Mandy, a neighbour's help he offers so many personal touches that made us feel at home. Flowers on the table, Welsh cakes & shortbread, eggs from his chickens and a personal message on a chalkboard. Although the weather wasn't perfect, we didn't get our full quota of sunsets, we would definitely recommend this property for a comfortable, memorable holiday.

We had a wonderful stay here. It was a beautiful cottage, that felt very homely and was well designed. The kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed. The back garden was very secure so great for dogs - the front garden was a lovely sun trap but did have low walls so dogs needed to be supervised. The cottage was very clean and spacious for 4 adults. Barbara and co gave detailed information regarding how to get there and check-in. The warden was also very helpful and explained the nearby caravan park had amenities we could use. The swimming pond was beautiful and there were lots of fields to walk the dogs. We loved our stay and would happily return.

Stunningly decorated, well equipped, incredibly peaceful and stunning surroundings. An incredibly helpful host. The swimming pool was an added luxury. Definitely returning for more getaways here.

My friend and I had a lovely, tranquil stay with our border terrier. The garden is enclosed and wonderful. The view is stunning and the house is cosy and welcomingly rustic. Great walks in the surrounding hills and by the river Towy. Llandovery is the only close by small town with all that you could need. I look forward to coming out there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the house was very clean and tidy and Clare went above and beyond with complimentary cake and fizz on arrival. Clare was very responsive when we had questions about the area. The house felt like a home, and it was great to be able to make the most of the spa pool after a day out. We would definitely book again.

We had a great time. The place is really well equipped with everything you could need, very cosy and the electric blankets were lovely. Instructions were very clear and it was easy to find. If we stayed again we would probably bring some extra towels as it was hard to get things dried out. Overall just wished we had longer!
