Cottage vacation rentals in Bras d'Or Lake

We booked super last minute so we could stay longer in town to visit my grandparents - we were beyond pleased with our stay! We had asked the host if there was any stores near by as we weren’t familiar with the area just to grab the kids some hot dogs but nothing was close nor near by and the host actually came down with hot dogs, buns and ketchup for my kids! Such a sweet gesture!!! The cabin was adorable - above expectation! Will definitely book again!

Katherine and Steven were excellent hosts. We had to reach out only once during the stay and they were extremely responsive and helpful. The location is beautiful and our family took full use of their hot tub, propane fireplace, open concept home and beautiful views. Catan was available to play and our kids spent hours chilling out and playing the game together. The only thing I would have wanted to know beforehand is that the walk back to the house from the river required an up-hill walk, which something not everyone in my family were able to do due to health/mobility issues. We would definitely stay here again.

Kirk and Kelley were very welcoming and lovely. The cottage was easy to locate and had some stunning views of the mountains and the lake. Thank you for hosting us and would indeed return for another get away in the future.

We spent our 10th wedding anniversary here and it was exactly what we needed and wanted. The deck overlooks the beautiful harbour- we were able to relax and enjoy watching the fishing boats coming in, many sea birds and song birds , even a pair of eagles who made their appearance several times. The wharf was wonderful as well, I read my book while my husband even dove off a couple of times - and the water was refreshing after a long hot tub soak (and easily accessible for a cold plunge.) We really enjoyed the kayaks and exploring the nearby beaches and even a little island. The house was exactly as described - just like my grandmothers house, with cool trinkets and knick knacks. The nostalgia was appreciated. Very clean, lots of towels and beds were comfy. No shortage of cooking supplies / cutlery or dishes either.

Beautiful location and beautiful cottage. Pristine condition and everything a person needs to settle in. We came prepared with our own items but they have provided many things. It is set up to have an experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Get some lobster and relax!

I would highly recommend. Kristy's place. It is very private with your own access to the lake. There is lots to do with canoes, lifesjackets, and washertoss games available. Or you can just relax on the back deck and enjoy the view.

A very relaxing homey place and a lovely porch with view of the sunset over the mountain. Lovely short walk to the bridge and friendly folk who passed by. Had everything we needed and more. The quality of the cutlery and dishes and the amount and variety of the "Basics" available was impressive.

Janet's place was simply wonderful. If you are lucky enough to go there make sure you do the trail that leads you to the train line and all the way to the beach. Simply magical... Thank you Janet :-)

Great relaxing stay! Cottage was private with a beautiful garden overlooking the ocean. Ton was a wonderful host.

We absolutely loved this location! The Chalet was just perfect-and convenient to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. We were very close to the Co-op grocery store, in town dining, our whale watch tour, and local shops as well. We loved having a washer and dryer in the house, the beds were super cozy, and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking meals. We felt very safe and enjoyed the view. We would definitely stay here again-great place!

I wanted a place to unwind and chill with my dog out of the city and this is the place. I really enjoyed the calmness. I cant wait to go back!!

We stayed at Susie's place for a couple of nights as we travelled around Nova Scotia. I can honestly say this was one of our favourite AirBnBs. It was extremely well fitted out and had everything you could need and more. If we could give 10 stars we would. Wish we had stayed a few more nights.

Location, location, location!!! This place was amazing. It seems remote but at the same time it is a great "home base" for exploring Cape Breton. Richard is a great host, very responsive. The home is beautiful, very clean, and the coffee was great. I highly recommend staying here.

This was our fourth stay in Aaron's beautiful cottage on Bell Bay Way in Baddeck, Nova Scotia, and it won't be our last! We stay every May for the iconic Cabot Trail Relay Race, and the cottage is the perfect place for our family of four racers to stay and relax when we are not out running and playing on the Cabot Trail. The beds are perfection, so comfortable. The views of the lake and the surrounding woods and mountains are gorgeous. The kitchen is full of everything you could possibly need, and the closets are full of toys and games. Aaron is so thoughtful with welcoming delicious drinks, and this year, we arrived during a cold nor'easter, so the gas fireplace was delightful on the first night. The cottage is big and sunny and so close to Baddeck. You could walk to town, but we drive the short drive and enjoy all the local flavor and flair of Baddeck in the shoulder season. You cannot go wrong staying at this beautiful home in this beautiful part of the world. We are so grateful.

Lauretta’s place is a lovely cottage. We needed a place to stay that was quiet but central and this did the job. Very close to Sydney if you need it but also close to Baddeck and beautiful scenic routes. The cottage is cozy and well stocked. Thanks for a lovely stay!

This is easily one of the nicest places my family has stayed. Beautiful surroundings and just an amazing location and view. Super close to town and CBHNP. Eric and Von were extremely responsive and helpful as well. Also they had literally everything you might need in the house from kitchen items and seasonings and staples to games, books, sporting and outdoor equipment. Would highly recommend!!!
