Trains pass thru town 24/7 and can be heard at the house. Steps from the National Park, feet from the Appalachian Trail. Relax by the fire, on the porch or on the river. We have something for every season and every age. we have lived here In HF 26 yrs., 13 of those at the Gaytehouse. We live right next door.

Our basecamp apartment is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast looking for an escape to the countryside. We are 1/2mile from the C&O Towpath and Potomac river and less than 2 miles from Harpers Ferry and the Appalachian Trail. Our location makes this perfect for couples, families or groups looking to hike, bike, or raft. Make use of our deck, grill, fire pit, and bike tools. We recently got internet. But no TV, and weak cell signal. The kitchenette has a hotplate, toaster oven, and coffee maker.
