From the cottage's verdant veranda stretching the entire length of the cottage, guests are afforded magnificent views over the South African Lowveld and in the distance, The Kruger National Park touching the horizon. It is situated at the very top of the village of Kampersrus within a safe and secure homestead.

We had a fantastic stay at Mona Cottage. Carmen and Mike are great hosts. Pilgrims Rest is a lovely village and it is so sad that it’s reputation seems to have been tarnished by the Zama Zama activity in the area. They apparently keep to themselves and as two women travelling together we felt perfectly safe in the village and cottage. Unfortunately the village closes down at 4.30pm and so we were not able to eat out for dinner. However, the kitchen at the cottage is very well equipped and we cooked up a storm. I highly recommend Carmen’s place and I encourage people to visit Pilgrims Rest for a few nights.

My partner and I had an amazing time there, so peaceful & such breathtaking scenery. There's a forest trail, drinkable streaming water, friendly monkeys who pop by often (just don't leave your food outside lol). Such a perfect place for outdoor people and there's so much to see and explore. Gerrit is such an incredible host, probably the most wonderful we've encountered. Highly recommend this place and when you visit, please do say hi to Pinkie. 100 points for Gerrit!! lol

Absolutely magical! Our stay at this incredible spot was nothing short of magical. The views are breathtaking, the space is beautifully and uniquely designed, and the entire experience felt like a peaceful retreat from the world. Waking up to the mountain view was unforgettable. Everything was just as described (if not better), and we felt right at home. Andre and Erna were wonderful, warm, and generous with their time and local knowledge. One of the most unforgettable experiences was feeding the zebras that wander right up to the house. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a special, soul-restoring getaway. Thank you for sharing this slice of paradise!

Great place for lovers needing rejuvenation of all sorts. The one thing that was a slap on the face was the falling leaves into the pool,it was too much for one to swim in. The place was fab and our host the best.Tracey much love.
