Paradise Valley-Mountain Escape

MelissaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We ended our stay in Wyoming here and it was wonderful. Not only is this place adorably decorated but it also has the most spectacular views! I don't think I could ever get tired of the mountain views here...I wish we could have stayed longer. Liz was wonderful to chat with and gave excellent suggestions for local places to check out as well. Best place we stayed all week.

Paradise Vista - Spacious, Quiet, Mountain Views!

MelissaRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Paradise Vista is truly paradise. Beautiful views can be seen from every single window of the house with two comfortable patios to enjoy those views from the outside. The house is immaculately clean and is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need making it feel just like home. Diane and Paul made everything really easy and everything is very organized.

Big Sky Cabin

RyanRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had an incredible stay at this cozy cabin tucked away in the Gallatin Canyon. It's the perfect home base for exploring the area — we hit Yellowstone, Big Sky, and downtown Bozeman, all within an easy drive. The cabin itself is clean, well-appointed, and full of character. We loved the Viking range and the fully stocked kitchen, which made it easy to cook meals after long days of adventuring. The living spaces are inviting, with a beautiful view upstairs and a cozy wood stove downstairs. The board games and books were a nice touch too. A heads-up: there’s no cell service in the canyon, so be sure to download directions and save a picture of the cabin before heading in. Once you find it (look for the 55220 on the deck), you’re in for a peaceful retreat just steps from the Gallatin River. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to unwind and explore one of the most scenic parts of Montana. We'll definitely be back!

The Cargill-Earl Guesthouse at Erik's Ranch

This place felt like it was straight from my dreams. We looooved the fireplace and gigantic windows. We would look out at the stars at night and the elk everywhere during the day. We would love to return one day.

The Fisherman's Lodge Big Sky.

LindaRating, 5 stars10 months ago
location was perfect. Surrounded by nature, yet close to restaurants and town. Took our 2 yr old granddaughter. Pack n Play and highchair at the house made our life easier. Host was even so kind as to let us stay a little past Check out so our granddaughter could get a nap before we had to travel home. We found the house to be well stocked with everything we needed. The only issue for us was my 6'4" son trying to navigate the upstairs with its slanted ceilings. Would stay here again!

Montana Modern and Art

Darcey And JoeRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Cory has created such a comfy and cool space. We fell in love with the neighborhood, the fun architecture, which includes many very fun reading nooks, and of course the worldly art! It was the kind of place you visit and don’t want to leave. Cory’s caretaker Sarah is perhaps the most friendly human, who so warmly welcomed us, was engaging, and also gave us plenty of privacy. Oh and Cory has written the BEST welcome guide I’ve ever seen! We just love this home and cannot wait to visit again!

Desert Mountain Suite

JenniferRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My friend and I arrived at John's place at 2am after our flight in from Bozeman. John was communicative and understood that we would be checking in late. He also made sure to ask if we found everything alright and got to the place safety. The apartment was sunny for a basement level apartment. Huge rooms with two full size beds in one and a king in the other. Super clean, well maintained as well as it seems freshly renovated. Having a washer / dryer shared between apartments was fantastic. Even better yet, having all the boot dryers in the mudroom was such a plus. I brought my own from home and I would have saved some space in my luggage if I knew there were boot dryers there! Location was fantastic, everything was within walking distance. Big Sky Resort was around less than a 15 min drive, and I have not tested out the shuttles yet but I saw that they were operating pretty regularly between the resort and the town.

*Downtown Luxury + Outdoor Patio*~ Walk Everywhere

MindyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This loft was unbelievably beautiful, comfortable, spacious, modern, and included everything and anything you could potentially need. The host was completely proactive and communicative and we had privacy, a close location for walking everywhere, easy parking, provided a bottle of wine, and beautiful outdoor spaces. The steam shower was beautiful and so luxurious. I highly recommend and hope to return.

Studio getaway within walking distance to ski lift

PatriciaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
The condo very much fit our needs. Easily accessible and conveniently close to skiing which is what we came to do. The condo was stocked well with the things we needed. Check in times and check out times were the best I’ve ever had. I very much appreciate the mention of the stairs to access the condo so we knew what to expect. Just would not recommend the amount of stairs to elderly people or those who have trouble climbing stairs. We had a great time staying there!

It is hard to find places as well put together as this. Given how insane a basic hotel room is in Bozeman you WILL be hard pressed to find someone who provides you with a space this clean, modern, and comfortable. David is an exceptional host.

Your guide to Big Sky

Introduction

Located along the Gallatin River, just about halfway between Yellowstone National Park and the town of Bozeman, Big Sky epitomizes the modern four-season resort town. In summer, the mountain village fills with visitors heading to the golf course, looking for an outdoor-focused vacation, or hoping to find a quieter retreat and more luxurious base from which to explore the national park. In winter, the ski area definitely steals the spotlight, fulfilling visitors’ dreams of a powder-filled getaway with few liftlines. Though the ski area dates back to 1973, Big Sky grew up as a destination only this century, with continuous improvements and expansions to both the ski area and the village around it.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Big Sky

As befits a ski resort town, the winters get cold in Big Sky, sometimes brutally so. Average low temperatures at night dip down into the single digits Fahrenheit, though winter days warm up, with the average high around 30 degrees. The weather warms up during the rather rainy spring season. Summer leans in the other direction, with average highs topping out around 78 degrees Fahrenheit and the nights cooling off to an average low around 40 degrees Fahrenheit — which means visitors should always bring at least a few layers when packing for Big Sky. A waterproof layer is also important, as Big Sky gets precipitation seven to 13 days each month, year-round, with the most in the spring and the least in the fall.

Top things to do in Big Sky

Skiing

Skiers should definitely take advantage of the more than 33 feet of snow that fall on Lone Mountain in the average year. Nearly 6,000 skiable acres, stretching over 4350 vertical feet, give every skier plenty of space, and nine high-speed lifts (of 38 total) keep them moving up and down the mountain.

Yellowstone National Park

Around 50 miles south of town, visitors come to the West Yellowstone entrance to America’s oldest national park. Another 45 minutes’ drive will bring you to the park’s greatest hits, including the Grand Prismatic Spring and the Old Faithful Geyser, and allows for plenty of wildlife spotting (including the storied bison).

Whitewater Rafting and Floating

Half- and full-day trips down the nearby Gallatin River take visitors on anything from a scenic float to an exciting adventure through class IV rapids, depending on the chosen route and time of year.
