The skiing and hiking areas in the Thuringian Forest (Oberhof with international competition venues and Schmiedefeld) are easily accessible by car in 20-30 minutes as well as by public transport.

The villa was built in 1911 by the founding company of the world-famous Anschütz Sportwaffen.
