Guesthouse vacation rentals in Bay Islands Department

First of all, Milady is a kindful, lovely and so nice person. She showed us the island by caddy and took us twice to the center. She told us so many interesting stories (and gave us information for our stay on the island) and showed us her nice art gallery. She gave us moskito spray and candles for free, additionally a whole gallone of water.. Even she washed our clothes (for free!). There were towels and shampoo in the room. The place is not in the centre, but the rooms are into kind a jungle, no wifi. The only “negative” point was, that we had to pay an additional fee - Milady called it tax from the government - of about 15% of the whole price. We understand, but its a bit confusing, because we also booked because of the described price. So calculate that in your budget. We highly recommend this place!

Jerri’s guest house was very clean and in a great spot right across the path from Reef House. The beds were very comfortable and bathroom was very nice. The property is a very short walk to a beach with amazing coral reef a short swim from the pier. George was incredibly helpful and also gave us a tour of the mangrove tunnels, which are a quick boat ride from the home. Great place to stay in Roatan!

Wonderful place in a wonderful location. I like to be outside of the main action so the location was perfect for me. (15 minute pleasant and safe walk into town.) My room was well-appointed. Comfortable bed. Hot shower. Clean and nestled in a nicely landscaped tropical environment. Milady is a very nice and attentive host. She made sure that I always had the proper information and even gave me a tour of the town on my first day. I would definitely recommend this place if you want something nice and not in the hustle bustle of downtown Utila. (Great stargazing from the property.) And ohhh…also check out Milady’s art gallery on the property with paintings and sculptures made by her!

We couldn’t have hoped for a better vacation. Joseph and Janelle’s place is just wonderful, and the beautiful photos don’t even do it justice. We stayed in one of their four casitas, where we were able to relax in a peaceful environment surrounded by amazing marine life. We enjoyed snorkeling at the different spots near the casita and also used the kayak several times. Everything was provided and in perfect condition. We received many useful tips. We felt as though we were visiting friends or family, as we were very well looked after, and everything we experienced—from the time spent together to the food and even the transportation—was done with the utmost care and attention to detail. We would love to return at any time and can absolutely recommend this little piece of paradise.

If I could give higher stars I would! This place is very beautiful! Truly a little slice of heaven! I loved the experience of taking a boat ride to get to Sea-Esta from the main town of Utila. It gives you the opportunity to really get away from the busyness of life and enjoy all that natural beauty that surrounds you! We napped in the hammock, we snorkeled, we kayaked, we walked the beach to a restaurant for lunch. Take note- with Janelle’s amazing breakfasts and dinners that were served, we never went hungry, however, you may want to pick up groceries prior to getting picked up by Joe to tie you over in between meal times. There is a little shop under the main house to do a load of laundry, purchase a snack, a forgotten toothbrush etc. or buy a souvenir. We definitely were sad to depart so soon after our time with Janelle and Joseph, they are truly an amazing couple who go above and beyond to make your stay at Sea-Esta Casitas a very top notch experience! Don’t hesitate to reserve!

11+ out of 10. Joe and Janelle are an amazing team. The property is spectacular with a view of the cays and Janelle is constantly working to make sure the property is spotless. The casitas were designed by Joe and decorated by Janelle and are lovely - from the screened in porch, drinkable water supply, quality bedding and towels, and little niceties such as a wireless phone charger and nightlights. The morning breakfasts were a highlight, cooked by Janelle and delivered to the casita by Joe at a time of your choosing. All the bread is homemade and there was zero repetition during our 7 days. The three dinners were equally delicious as Janelle is a topnotch chef. We looked forward to Joe's stories (jokes) which were delivered with impeccable timing. The wifi is consistent and even available on the top deck of the dock. Lounging there with the spectacular view and a good book was a wonderful way to while away a few hours every day. One of the treats was watching the rays from the dock

This place is honestly such a gem, and Tibyasa is an excellent host. Since I first made the reservation, he sent a detailed guide with everything I should know, including activities and tips for getting around. Plus the instructions for getting to the property were very clear as well, and he and Oscar were very responsive and went out of their way to help us any time we needed anything. The property itself was so peaceful. It's so quiet and relaxing, the beach is very close by car and with very few people, and you get an amazing view of the stars from here. I was honestly sad to leave because I fell in love with the quiet, natural setting here. There's no a/c (as written in the description) so I was initially a bit hesitant to book here because I thought it would be too hot, but the weather is honestly quite pleasant and it never gets uncomfortably hot in my opinion (and at night it's quite cool). If you don't normally air condition your home, you'll be perfectly happy here.

Ada's place is perfect for a quiet laid back vacation. It was quiet at night. The area is private and peaceful. We snorkeled everyday right off the steps. We saw something new every day : turtles, eels, rays. You just have be aware of the small boat channel that you have to cross. The drivers watch for snorkelers, and we had no issues, although it did deter us from night snorkeling since we didn't have a light to wear. Ada and Jim were both very friendly. Anjil was so helpful and nice. Thank you!

Nice, relaxing spot in Sandy Bay with beautiful outdoor space and access to other worldly snorkeling! Note this isn't the most pedestrian friendly area of the island, but if you rent a car or are okay with picking up taxis on the main road (which are cheap and what we did) you should do fine. We met about everyone in the neighborhood, lots of friendly snowbirds from Europe and North America. The poolside is excellent and it's great to dip and cool off throughout the day. There's plenty of windows on all sides and a ceiling fan, and we had no reason to use A/C while we were there. The snorkeling is fantastic - we saw eagle rays, green moray eels, parrotfish, lionfish, huge groupers, and just so much variety. We would come back!

What an incredible Airbnb! We stayed for a day while our cruise stopped in Roatan because we needed a place for my son to nap. Guy was extremely helpful and friendly, answering all my questions before arrival. Check in and directions were easy and clear. The casita was beautiful, the photos don’t do it justice! The pool was also gorgeous, and we also managed to get our laundry done with a very quick laundry service. I cannot reccomend this casita and this location highly enough. We hope to be back soon!

We have been with Airbnb since 2017 and Casa Familia is in the top 5 of our experiences. The one bedroom condo was clean, comfortable and in a good location. The pool was very relaxing after a day of activities and the use of the golf cart was an absolute plus. The lush greenery and florals lining the walkway were breathtaking. The beach, restaurants and a variety of fun activities were within a 5 minute walk. The hosts communicated well. We would highly recommend and if available would book again.

STOP! This is where you want to stay! What an absolute GEM this place is!!! Guy was just a darling and we had zero complaints, this Airbnb was booked very last minute so there was no plans to map anything out. Quite surprisingly, it was a short drive from the ferry dock and maybe 10 minutes away from West End where there’s lots to eat and do. The casitas are so cute and the property itself is well kept and very private. The pool was a really nice touch to have right outside of the casitas. Like I said nothing was planned, we booked as we pulled up and had NO issues getting in, finding instructions or communication. Staying here made the 1 night we were in Roatan well worth it. Cannot wait to come back.
