We discovered our cottage in the beautiful Westerwald by chance in 2019 – and immediately fell in love. Between March 2020 and August 2021, we transformed it with a lot of passion and attention to detail into a place where you can relax and recharge your batteries. For me – Janine, a trained hotel manager – it is particularly important to bring people closer to the small and large beauties of life: through time for themselves, with the family or simply in nature. Whether alone, as a couple or with children: our cottage invites you to switch off, feel, pause. A place to find yourself (again) – and to celebrate life.

Ohren - An oasis of tranquility in the countryside

An unique tranquil living space can comfortably accomodate 2-7 persons. Furnishings include queen size beds, bright pool room and an inviting bar. Glass doors open up onto wooden terraces and a koi pond. An adjacent grill under a vine-covered pergola overlooks a large (1400sqm) well-kept garden. It has a private entrance with ample parking. We live on the top floor of the house, but we give our guests their space and guests have most of the garden to themselves. Easily accessible from the A3.

The electricity is generated by a hydroelectric power station adjacent to the valley mill. We rent a beautiful, cozy cottage. The cottage is located on the grounds of the former Maria pit right on the edge of the forest. A little off the main building. The detached single-family home was originally built in 1962 as a weekend house for a Frankfurt family and has been completely renovated and converted in the last three years. It has become modern, practical, efficient but also very cozy and offers an oasis of well-being of about 150 m² on 2 floors.

"Time out" is the motto here and stands for a few relaxing days in our cozy wooden hut on the edge of the Holzbach Gorge, in the "Fohlenwiese vacation village." The surroundings offer hiking trails (directly on the Westerwaldsteig) as well as swimming lakes and vast forests that can be explored by bike... For absolute relaxation, we offer an infrared heat cabin for two people.

The beautiful outdoors with great hiking trails surround the detached nature house. A short distance from the house, you will enter the 6th stage of the Bergischer Panoramasteig. A variety of smaller circular and bike paths and the dams of the Bergisches Land invite you to many activities. But you can also enjoy nature experiences or fantastic sunsets from the terrace.
