The city of Avilés is 7 kms away and it takes half an hour to get either to Oviedo or to Gijón. There are big supermarkets and grocery shops 1 mile from the house.

La Cochera de Somao is a fully restored 1900 house, of Indian typology, located in a 7,500 square meter complex. Somao, a natural viewpoint of the Nalón estuary and the Cantabrian coast, preserves in its rural nucleus an important complex of houses or mansions of Indian architecture. Within a three-kilometer radius are the recreational forest areas of La Peñona and Monteagudo and Muros del Nalón, with the beaches of Aguilar, El Xilo, Las Llanas and its coastal path.
