Our guest house Sumiya is in the centre of Kawayu village near Kumano Hongu Taisha shrine. River Oto in front is a unique river with its hot spring sources and you can enjoy an open air bath (small one in the summer and a big one in the winter). You can also dig your own mini bath in the summer for a little bathing under the milky way. Near to Kumano Kodo trail, Kawayu is one of the best destinations for those who want to know more about the area's history and culture and enjoy its nature.

3-minute walk to Matsumoto Castle and Nawate Street. The hostel is on a quiet street. Nearby, you can find traditional restaurants, izakaya, and a public bath. The building is renovated traditional Japanese house so that you can enjoy a cozy Japanese feeling here. In the common area, you can relax on a kotatsu, hammock, or couch :) The room is a corner room which has two single beds and a double bed so that you can stay with your friends or family. The hostel Saruya Hostel opened in 2015 in Fujiyoshida, a city at the bottom of Mt Fuji. We renovated an 80 years old wooden house to create a place that allows our guests to experience time and space through carefully selected art, design and objects, mixing traditional Japanese inspiration with modern aesthetics.
