Medieval Fort, Sud Ardèche stunning loft with pool

Formally a fortified castle “Fort de La Bastide “ was constructed on the site of a Roman military station. The earliest historical mention is 1417 and it's long history includes an invasion in 1584 by Protestants during the period of the Huguenot wars. The fort has maintained many original features including the old stone staircase at the front door leading up to a 4 bedroomed loft apartment . There is full access to the large garden including an 10mx4m in-ground heated swimming pool .

In Drôme Provençale, next to Grignan, between vineyards and lavender, our cottage is the only one on the property. It is located upstairs, for four adults, adjoining the owners' farmhouse. 48 m2 living room, with fully equipped open kitchen, relaxation area with 127 cm TV, air conditioning. 35 m2 master suite with walk-in shower, double sinks, separate toilet, air conditioning. 30 m2 mezzanine. Both beds are 160 X 200. Private terrace with Weber barbecue.

We are located on the edge of the village, close to remarkable sites, the Ardèche Gorges, Pont d'Arc, Chauvet Cave, pretty rivers, colorful markets and picturesque villages... You can walk to all the shops in the village (supermarket, restaurants, canoe rentals) and all the services (bank, post office, tourist office, pharmacy...) If you like hiking, I would be happy to advise you on the surrounding trails, departures are on foot from the studio. Village parking nearby.
