The hosts are a delightful family who also live there. Never met Nishan who is simply a front man for the listing. Would recommend booking via Bookingdotcom for a much better price. A mistake that we learned from. Property delightful and also host family who also live there. But Nishan describing the listing as the entire property is simply not true! Buyer beware.

Dimuthu was a great host. The moment we enter the place he gave us a small tour and took us to a private waterfall next to the house. He was kind enough to show us around, recommend restaurants and tuk drivers. His family was always nice and we even got some food one day, really friendly people. The house itself looks like the pictures, it is really spacious, there’s a fish tank!, it’s a really peaceful place to stay. My favourite part was the privacy of the place, just accompanied by puppies, monkeys and fireflies. It was a pleasant stay and Dimuthu was a great host.

We had a wonderful stay! The accommodation was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast served right on our private terrace, with a breathtaking view over the surrounding hills. The peaceful atmosphere and the amazing view made it a perfect place to relax. The hosts were very warmhearted and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

We had a great time. The property was clean and new, just like in the pictures. Our host was very helpful and available. It was just wonderful. Highly recommend.

What an adventure. We were a group of friends with people of all ages and everyone loved the space. It’s not a child friendly place but kids (and everyone else) loved the surroundings,birds and views. We hiked to the neighboring hill and were rewarded with amazing views. The hosts are very attentive and dealt with any issues proactively. It’s not an easy location but one worth making the effort to get to. The house is beautiful and rustic. An outdoor bathroom isn’t the most practical but somehow adds to the house and we can see how it would be great on the summer. The kitchen had everything we needed, we cooked all our meals with ease, and the local housekeeper is perfect if you prefer not to cook, in fact having her cook for you is a great way of empowering her to create a better life for herself and her family. Jody and Punyaka were always responsive and we hope to have the chance to visit again, it’s not an experience we will easily forget! Don’t miss Diyaluma falls (take swimsuit).

Thilan's place was as per description. Generous host, amazing breakfast, kind and very responsive on WA. Had everything ready when we reached. location is nice and breezy. View of Little Adam's Peak from the deck. Peaceful. The light inside the room is very dim. Had it been brighter, the small size of the room with so many things and no palce to keep bags would have felt less inconvenient. But overall loved the place, hospitality and the arrangement of tuk-tuk drivers when we needed - so didnt feel the difficulty of navigating in and out of the place which is quite inside. I would definitely saty there again and recommed to others, provided you dont mind climbing those stairs to reach the room, some may find the narrow steps a bit scary.

We had al lovely time at Amila’s place. The place is huge, very nice for kids, lots of room to play. Amila is extremely friendly and helpful, drove us around a couple of times and taught us everything about his garden. His knowledge of plants and fruits is remarkable. We were treated to fresh fruits daily and got a tour of his extensive garden. It is a little out of town, although close to the Nine Arches Bridge, so you could walk it if you like. Because we have kids we asked Amila to drop us off and pick us up. Highly recommend!

What an amazing place, in a beautiful area of the island. From the moment we drew up to the gates of the Dutch House, we were greeted by the most gorgeous Dutch villa, and the all-pervasive smile of Kannan, who looked after us like members of the family during our stay. The house sits high on the hills outside of Bandarawela, up a short, but very steep road, which gives it a great vantage point over the surrounding lush hills and mountains. It’s a great climate so a gin and tonic on the veranda was a joy. We made use of the pool, and although not heated, you soon get used to it. The surrounding gardens are very well kept and have a plethora of birds and other wildlife. The food prepared by the on site chef was wonderful, as was the attentive service from Kannan. We also had the best sleep we've had during our trip. Even if you’re not in the immediate area, a drive here and a stay in this wonderful house, will surely be one of the highlights of any trip. It was for ours.

Great stay at Villawonne! Very easy communication with the host and nice and helpful welcome by the housekeepers. The apartment is well-equiped and comfortable. The rooms are indeed quite cool at night even just with fans and without AC. The open setup has a cool vibe, and even when there are mosquitoes, the net over the beds are well-constructed and effective. We would come back!

This was an amazing stay! I wish I stayed longer. The owners Asith and his wife have made a lovely piece of heaven in the mountains. The property and it's surrounding are a dream! The hosts are kind and made us a top notch breakfast. On top of that they are so accommodating and super hard working. There are some considerations when people choose to book, if you're bringing a mini van it's a bit tricky, but the owners make it work! But just keep in mind roads are narrow. They provide their tuk tuk to help as well.

First, the essential comments: the place was Clean, Comfortable and Convenient: The Three Big C's for a good homestay experience ). It looked and functioned as advertised in the listing and photos, and I truly feel as if I got much more than I paid for, due to a crucial factor: I arrived in a limited mobility state, several days before a caretaker friend joined me. I was compromised to a degree both physically and mentally. Wthout the caring, kind and generous attention of the host family to my welfare and well being, they who lived in the same domicile on the floor below, my experience at Chandrakanthan's place would have been very different indeed. Batticoloa is an exceptionally beautiful town with lots to offer visitors of all ilks and inclinations; so, without reservation, I offer Chandrakanath and his wife, Priya, my absolute highest recommendation for a pleasant and rewarding homestay experience in a delightful environment. Mark my words: you will be glad you did.

My stay at this place by the water was simply & good. The natural sounds and the view of the temple create an peaceful atmosphere—perfect for relaxation. My host was fantastic!!!He speaks excellent English, gave me great tips, and even organized a full-day tour for me. He was patient, kind, and always helpful. The accommodation is slightly away from the tourist crowds—exactly what I was looking for. I stayed for two nights and was completely satisfied. The room had everything I needed, including a small balcony.

Oh I just loved this special place. I slept great and woke up to such a beautiful morning on my balcony. I had a tea while watching nature and taking it all in. The garden is very special and I was able to find such a moment of peace there.

It was a perfect time, really recommend 😊
