Spectacular setting wish we had more time to enjoy the place. Clean and comfortable. Full kitchen. Needs a car to get to. Looks like the photos. Bring all your own food then you don’t have to leave.

An impeccably kept family home surrounded by vines, apple trees and rich local history. The place probably best represents life in northern Portugal — calm and full of beauty. Fernando is a great host, always responsive and ready to help.

The house is ideal for nature lovers! It is very cool inside and has all the necessary equipment for a comfortable stay. The river below is perfect for cooling off and other spots are within walking or driving distance by the road that passes in front of the house (little traffic, mainly farmers and locals who are very warm). We would have stayed much longer!

Carla was very responsive to any issues we had. Very helpful and friendly despite the language differences. Casa Sophia is a perfect as a base for exploring the northern region of Portugal.

Truly a top accommodation several foosball balconies full of towels available . I highly recommend it!

Francisca and Henrique at the Mill House Quinta do Reciao were excellent hosts. They were extremely helpful with recommendations for sightseeing and winery tours; they gave us clear driving directions which were very helpful as well. They were always quick to respond to all our communications. Such good tips, ideas and feedback enhanced our relaxation during our 5 day stay. The experience they provided us at the Mill House was really incredible- home cooked four course meals personally delivered to our door every night was wonderful! Henrique is an excellent chef! And the wine was always perfect. Our stay there was wonderful!

Joao’s place was clean, cozy and inviting. Nestled in a beautiful quiet neighbourhood offering tons of privacy. His mom Maria was there to meet us when we arrived , we actually landed 20-30 minutes before check in and she let us in and showed us around. This is the third place we’ve stayed here on this trip and by far my favourite for a relaxing stay.

Quiet, cozy and functional place that makes you feel at home immediately. Swimming pool rightly sized. Different in and outdoors to have a meal or just relax. Very friendly and proactive host. Price could be adjusted to number of people (eg chalet not used, which also reduce costs on property use). Memorable and enjoyable stay at Maçã Douro.

A beautiful property and location! A bit remote but a quick drive to the main road and town (be aware the road up to the house is hilly but well lit at night and easier once you know where to go). Eurico was so nice and takes amazing care of the property! He was very helpful and we loved our stay. The pool is wonderful, and kitchen had everything you need to cook. We hope to return!

Really excellent and large house that has been tastefully updated and renovated to modern standards. Great for our multi-family vacation to the Douro Valley. The kitchen was large with excellent modern appliances, and the entertainment room and grounds were ideal for our children. This is an excellent place to rent in the Douro Valley.

Beautiful location in the Douro region amongst the vineyards - Philippa, Paul and Susanna were super helpful and available to us and the house was well equipped for our visit. Great pool and stunning views.

As a group, accustomed to making reservations through airbnb, we decided to book Mr. Rui's. It was definitely an excellent decision! The accommodation is very spacious, with very good taste, with all the necessary utensils, very clean and well-kept! A very well prepared and comfortable outdoor space, from the pool, to the barbecue, to the vegetables! Mr. Rui was tireless from our first interest, always available and concerned. Upon our arrival, we had some very tasty treats. Without a doubt, it positively makes a difference, which "forces" us to come back (and we will gladly). Thank you for everything, Mr. Rui.

Our stay at this place was UNREAL! The views was like something taken from a movie with its hills and scenery. Jose, the host we were in contact with, made the whole stay even better! The wine tour was incredible and informative and having access to the pool during these hot days was incredible. The comments said the pool was private but in the booking it says shared pool. But I imagine the pool is restricted to the ones in the houses, not the camping. Overall, an incredible stay!! Will definitely come back some day!

Enjoyed our stay in Vila Real. We used it as a hub for day trips in the area. The house was beautiful and well cared for and met our expectations.

Everything was perfect. The check-in went smoothly and the place is spotless. Communication was easy and friendly. I would stay there again without hesitation.

We loved the villa and its surroundings and Angela and Mario couldn’t have been more helpful. It is a short car journey into Mirandela where there are some great restaurants - recommended by our host. They were terrific value as well compared to restaurant prices in Porto! Unfortunately I picked up a head cold in Porto and had little energy to explore the local tracks. It’s a great place to stay with easy access to Tua Natural Parc and the Douro Valley, I would highly recommend it to our friends and family.

Florbela’s villa was an incredible spot to spend a few days in the Douro valley. The interior is spacious, and the balcony and pool both offer beautiful views of the river and countryside. Truly much better than the photos. Florbela and her husband were also very kind and helpful!

I don't think you could ever tire of the views from Quinta do Fraguil. They're breathtaking - we kept taking just one more photo! It's so special to be able to see so far into the distance and right down to the bottom of the valley. Even the local viewing point didn't match it! From start to finish, Rui was a friendly and really responsive host. He made us feel confident as soon as we had booked that we were going to be staying somewhere special. He turned up to meet us when we arrived and was in really good contact any time we needed to ask him anything before or during our stay. The pool is a total highlight - a good size and really clean. The house itself was also really clean and tastefully furnished. The outside eating area was perfect and made you feel happy to stay 'at home' and cook! We had sunshine every day and warm evenings sitting outside. This is the sort of place that you feel really sad to leave at the end of your holiday and one that you're very likely to visit again.
