Family Retreat

KatieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Overall this place was great and we would absolutely stay again. We didn't want to camp so this was the closest place to the Sand Dunes for our group. We had lots of space and everything was really great. It was a little hard to tell from the photos but there are 5 bedrooms upstairs - two queens, two single beds, one king in the master. Downstairs there is another room with a couch that folds into a bed that can be used as a bedroom. There is also the fold out couch in the living room too. Really great having so much space! One thing - we were cooking breakfast and set off the fire alarm. At first we didn't realize we could stop the alarm so it took a while to get it off. When cooking, make sure that you turn the vent on!

The Hideaway Spot

SandyRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Danyelle was an exceptional host. The house was very homey. Loved sitting on the porch, we even got to see a dear walking down the sidewalk and eating leaves from a tree. Great place to stay for taking the train ride in Antonito. Thank you Danyelle!!!

5 Mi to Great Sand Dunes NP: Mountain Retreat!

FaithRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This location was perfect for visiting the Sand Dunes! We were able to easily get into the park every morning with no delay because we were literally right down the road. The surrounding area was very private and felt safe. I was able to relax and feel secure at night. Host was very communicative/available. I would stay again if we decided to revisit the park down the line! Thanks for the good stay.

Mt. Dark Sky Cottage By Great Sand Dunes, Alamosa

Samantha KellyRating, 5 stars3 days ago
This is a gem of a location nestled in the mountains with beautiful views. Just outside the home is an area to sit and look at the stars. The place is cozy and was able to accommodate us at 7 very well with extra spots for sleeping. We didn’t end up camping but there’s room for a couple of tents right outside. The home itself is wonderful. We had all the gear needed along with supporting spices for making meals. Additionally, the hosts are available to support with anything you need at all. If we are to ever come back to the sand dunes to visit, we are definitely considering here first to stay. It was only 30 minutes from the national park and yet well secluded for your stay. You won’t regret staying here!

Great Sand Dunes Stargazing Tent

BrittanyRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Awesome place! Each tent is very cute and decorated well! Very beautiful setting and everyone was very nice! FYI There is 1 restroom that is shared among all that stay there, and is a good distance from each tent depending on which one you stay at. There is also no running water or heat/air. Our tour of the Dunes by Chris Mahoney was great. Sand sledding was fun!

Glamping tent w/ 3 single beds -breakfast included

MichanaeRating, 5 stars33 months ago
Thus was my second time staying at Rustic Rook and I loved it. I closed ou the summer with my friends at the sand dunes. The wood fire stove in tent provided much needed warmth at night, we brought our own wood because the stove burns fast(something I learned from my first stay). Plenty of grills to cook and the staff is pretty helpful. I wish the bathrooms were cleaned more frequently but also I'm so thankful for them. Either way, I recommend!

Great Sand Dunes Romantic Glamping

PeterRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had an amazing stay at this place! The space was spotlessly clean and had such a cool vibe, with tons of potential to be even more incredible. The outdoor showers were unique, but we did find ourselves wishing for indoor showers for a bit more comfort and privacy. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The bonfire was a highlight! It was such a great setup, and we loved chatting with everyone around it. Highly recommend this gem for a unique and memorable stay!

Exclusive campsite - Great Sand Dunes

AllenRating, 5 stars9 months ago
I loved my stay at Dunes Desert Camp! I was looking for a place to camp near the Great Sand Dunes and found Chris' listing. He responded quickly and was very friendly. He gave me clear directions, was flexible on check-in time, and met me at the gate. His property was easy to find. He showed me the facilities and a few different options for campsites. His property is more than 300 acres, offering lots of privacy. He offers different price points -- from a luxury safari tent with a king size 4-poster bed, to five bell tents each with a queen bed, to simple sites for campers like me who bring their own equipment. The amenities are not fancy, but just as described. The "Cantina" is a shade structure with solar lighting, gas grill, etc. The site offers toilets, running water, an outdoor shower, and a communal firepit. Chris joined me by the fire the first night - fascinating guy who works as a safari guide in Africa. He or Perrin touched base with me every day to ensure all was okay.

I wish I could give an extra star! This campsite was exactly what we wanted. You can be as secluded or as immersed with other campers as you wish, as there is a lot of property available to pick your campsite. The views were incredible, and you are only ~20 min drive from the park and hiking.

Visit Great Sand Dunes, ASU #3176

KateRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My family of 4 stay here for two nights and it was perfect for us. The kids had their own room and own beds! There was a beautiful patio our back with a nice shade tree, grass to play in and a wooden play structure for the kids to get their road trip wiggles out. The kitchen was well stocked and even had a coffee maker and coffee and a kettle for tea. The living room was comfortable for all of us to watch a movie after a day at the dunes. And the dining room was spacious and comfortable.. We all felt right at home💜
