Exceptional stay with a tour in nature and in the territory of Santa Maria with Walter, a guide really passionate about his work who transmits good general knowledge about the places. Panoramic view of the incredible jungle from the bedroom and beautiful site in nature with great biodiversity.

The villa was very well located, easily accessible and with everything you need. All very clean and very nice decor. The reality even better than the photos. It's inside a complex where they give all kinds of facilities. David was an excellent host, friendly and lovely, providing recommendations, and having details with us. In short, a place to stay and a host of 10.

Excellent place for a large group to stay. There is only one bathroom and shower, but we managed very well. There are no screens on the windows so recommend to keep the windows shut! After we learned that, we had no problems at all. Love the access to the river, wonderful option for our group. Breakfast was amazing!!

This place is an absolute gem! The views of the lake Arenal are fantastic and the house has a charm that the pictures don't do it justice. You have see it in person to appreciate the place. Patrick and his wife were excellent hosts, very helpful with anything we needed. The house is minutes to Nuevo Arenal, lake Arenal and lake Cote, one hour and a half from La Fortuna in one direction and from Tenorio Volcan with Rio Celeste in another direction. e Excellent location to have for a base and visit a large area. Thank you for hosting us and we will be back!

Great place to stay at! It's a private quiet place to stay at but still has walkable restaurants nearby. Huge bathroom with hot water, fridge in room and double beds. Not complaint but something to note is pool is shared by all villas and not directly outside room. A nice surprise was that breakfast was included and free from 7-10 am. I would definitely stay again!

We stayed here just one night. Check-in was absolutely hassle-free, we were even able to check in two hours early. It's more of a hotel, it was always super friendly and helpful staff on site! The rooms are clairaudient, the floor has larger crevices under the house... the cockroaches like to use this to get into the rooms, especially in the bathroom. It must be said that the only living specimens showed up outside and in the dark! In the room there were only two dead copies in the shower. The (clean) bed, which was particularly important to us, did not get lost all night. For this, we saw and heard bats flying out of the roof in front of our room in the evening. :-) We can also highly recommend the hotel's Spà with Hot&Cold Tube, the chocolate workshop and an independent hike through the plantation!

The Santa Maria Volcano Lodge is a gem. It is rustic, restful, and in beautiful surroundings. The flowers, foliage, and fauna are a little bit of paradise. Rosalba and her staff are so friendly and helpful. There is nowhere else nearby to eat but the meals prepared at the lodge are delicious and a good value. I would recommend having 4 wheel drive to access and bring a flashlight or headlamp.

Finca La Amistad was AMAZING! We were there with my three young kids and they absolutely loved it. From the breakfast with fresh juice, fruit grown on the farm, and eggs, to the cacao tour and chocolate making (the tour is included in the price, the chocolate making is extra but very much worth it), everything was so delightful. Waking up to the sounds of the birds chirping was so peaceful, and the lush fauna surrounding our bungalow was so beautiful. I would definitely stay there again.

The place is lovely, extremely private and peaceful with little traffic. Ronald and Alejandra were great hosts, providing great recommendations of things to do and places to eat nearby.

As a host I found it very kind, I always responded to inquiries. The place is very quiet, cool, beautiful. I loved that they will accept my two puppies 🐶 🐶 The delicious cafeteria….❤️❤️❤️🌷🌷🌷 If you need to be in touch with nature it's the place to be! I recommend it 1000% 🌿🌱🪴🍀🌿🥬🍃🍃🍃🍃🍃

Our stay in Upala was peaceful and full of beautiful surroundings! The cook, Dinia, was so welcoming and accommodating! The pool was clean and my kids favorite part! Probably could put a weather strip at the bottom of the sliding cabin doors to help keep bugs out but otherwise the cabin and sleeping hearing the rain on the metal roof each night was so memorable!

We had a lovely stay at Ana’s place. It’s a very nice decorated open tree house - so of corse there are some animals - but it was no problem with the insect net around the bed. In the morning we walked together through the property were we met all the other animals and everything was explained to us. The breakfast was really delicious and we felt very welcomed by the family . Thank you so much for the experience!

Mercedes was an incredibly sweet and helpful host, she made us feel right at home from the start. The place itself is peaceful and surrounded by nature, with the sounds of wildlife adding to the relaxing atmosphere. It’s about a 15-minute drive from La Fortuna, and most tours will pick you up directly from the Airbnb, making it super convenient. If you’re looking for a stress-free stay near La Fortuna, I highly recommend this place!

The family was very warm and helpful. The pool was wonderful. The birdsong was wonderful! We saw so many animals directly from the pool, even parakeets! Breakfast was freshly prepared on the fire every morning and we were always allowed to take fresh bananas from their tree! Thank you!

Thank you, it was an amazing stay! You feel like you are in the middle of nature and we saw many animals. The beds are comfortable and we would always stay there again.

We thought it was a very nice, quiet place. A very large property with lots of nature. Everything was clean and tidy. Everything you need. As seen in the photos. We're definitely going back. Thank you Adriana and family for your hospitality.

This bed and breakfast is in an amazingly beautiful location. Although we had rainy and cold weather, we thoroughly enjoyed visiting the area, and it’s quite close to Selvatura Park. The value for the room is incredible - we could only imagine the views if the weather had been good for us (see reviews about the view when the weather is clear). Lastly, ask for extra blankets if the weather is rainy/cold, as the rooms aren’t heated. As the reviews state, the banana pancakes and coffee are amazing. Beautiful place!!!

Believe all of the 5-star reviews! Malekus Mountain Lodge is pure magic. We were a family of ten ranging in age from 75 to 11, and couldn’t have asked for a better base for our Costa Rican adventures. Each couple had their own room and bathroom which were very clean and comfortable, even without A/C. Fans were provided in every room and it cooled down considerably at nighttime. The communal space, living room and pool area are amazing, and the gardens, trails, bridges and ponds are absolutely stunning. We couldn’t believe how lucky we were to have the place all to ourselves and experience the hospitality of Roger and Rosie and their dog, Bruno. They were wonderful hosts, providing delicious breakfasts, insights into the flora and fauna, and recommendations for restaurants, activities and guides that truly felt authentic - we were usually the only North Americans around. Being conversational in Spanish is helpful. Rent a 4WD and be ready for adventure!

This accommodation was absolutely unique and exceeded all expectations with its quirky cool rooms, impeccable cleanliness, outstanding service from Travis and his team, and a perfect location - Travis took us out on his boats for a day of snorkeling, swimming and island hopping, a 5-star boat experience from start to finish, definitely will recommend.

my mom and I had a lovely time at Hotel Campo Verde! we saw 2 toucans in the morning on the hike within the property, which was amazing! the free breakfast was delicious and our cabin was cozy and clean. the reception was very friendly and we loved the secluded feeling of the place. we definitely recommend!

Enjoyed surrounding, lovely cabin. Had ac. Very big shower spacious cabin. Beds were good. I would definitely include tv for the cabin with and small coffee pot. Cabin doesn’t have any appliances. They serve breakfast from 6.30-9.30 for extra charge. Nice big pool but only one sitting chair and one lounge chair. At least 6 would be nice . But over all close to town, nice view of volcano, very closed to the nice waterfall. Location is amazing! Highly recommend!

These cabins are a trek! We rented them out for two nights, and spent the day in Monteverde doing the cloud forest walks. Monteverde is awesome. It is approximately 25 minutes out of Monte Verde . You will need a 4 x 4. The views are absolutely stunning from Victor’s cabins . They are rustic , but clean , and have your basic essentials . The water was cold . It was chilly at night. Their was food provided for breakfast that was included in the cost, and they made dinner for us one night. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the mountains. The food was traditional and tasty. My only regret was the jacuzzi had no water in it. It was situated overlooking the stunning views of the area , that would have been a sweet perk.
