Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Achill Island

Recently we stayed in Carme's place for two nights and it was a home away from home. The house is beautiful, spacious and cosy and it boasts a beautiful view of Croagh Patrick. I loved seeing the cows in the field while having my breakfast and the family sheep dog is so friendly. Thank you Carmel for your delicious home baked bread, jam and your farm eggs. It was such a lovely and welcoming gesture. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our only regret was that we only stayed for 2 nights! We will just have to come back!

Amazing experience! We absolutely loved staying at Jennifer’s house — it was cosy, peaceful, and had everything we needed. Jennifer was a fantastic host, and we really felt at home. Hopefully we’ll be back soon!

A traditional Irish cottage, beautifully appointed. Suitable for two couples as the two double bedrooms both have ensuite shower rooms, with a downstairs lavatory also available. Newport is a characterful village (the inhabitants call it a town) and the public house next door has a welcoming landlord, good food and friendly locals. There are four or five other public houses in Newport, which we didn't have time to visit over a two night stay. We enjoyed our short visit to Mayo, and could have spent more time there. Waterfront cottage is well situated, extremely well kept and comfortably homely.

A great place for a week away from it all. The house is clean, warm and dry which are what you need on the west coast. Great location right on the lake but also close to Clonbur and Cong with lots of options to eat and drink a good Guinness. Would definitely recommend.

Husband, myself and 2 sons had a fabulous stay. The house was beautiful; even better than the pictures. It sits high up a country road with fantastic views. It’s off the beaten path but it only adds to its appeal. The furnishings, kitchen/baths,beds are all high quality and comfortable. Marion and the property manager,Patricia were helpful with all the needed info from start to end. I hope to come back and stay again. In

The location was excellent for a wedding we attended at knockranny hotel, also walking distance to the town centre. Paul had milk in the fridge and a few essentials which was a lovely touch! The house was very homely and welcoming!

The apartment is very spacious and also offers parking for several vehicles. Gerard was very accommodating and gave good tips for tours to explore Ballina and the region. For problems we had with the motorcycle, everyone helped us a lot. A special highlight was the visits to the pub next door, where we had many interesting conversations with nice people. We can only recommend the property.

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at Marie's very much! Could have stayed longer. Everything was clean, the beds very comfortable. It's a little ways outside of Westport so it's a perfect combination of quiet and peaceful but still with plenty to do close by. We spent lots of time in the living room just enjoying the amazing view. Kitchen was well stocked and easy to use. Hopefully we can stay again one day!

We visited Ireland for the first time (4-person family) and deliberately chose a rural accommodation. The location was fantastic and especially the nearby beaches delighted us. The view of the surrounding mountains was also beautiful. The house was spacious and had everything we needed. It was a good starting point for our activities by car. We had a nice time together as a family and thank Margaret and her husband very much for their hospitality.

What can I say, it is a wonderful property, the views are spectacular. Very comfortable bed. Mary was so warm and welcoming, made us feel right at home. We enjoyed sitting looking out at the wonderful view, seeing the lights across Lough Corrib, I’m sure that image will stay with us for a very long time. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Beautiful location within the trees and the river is really special. Amazing distance from Westport, close and accessible yet far enough away to feel the peace and quiet. Old head beach is nearby too which is a bonus!

Lovely hosts and a real feeling of getting away from it all. Loved the fire too.

9 of us stayed here for a long weekend and we were all devastated to be leaving.. between our own company, the beautiful setting and scenery along with hikes and beaches it was just a dream to stay here. couldn’t recommend it enough! This trip will forever stay with us as some beautiful memories
