"De Gulle pracht" Holiday home, Friesland

Our cozy vacation cottage, originally was an old stable that we (Caroline and Jan) converted together, with lots of love and respect for the old details and materials, into this "Gulle Pracht". Through a private driveway with parking, you reach the terrace with the spacious garden, a lawn with surrounding tall trees, where you can enjoy. Through the two French doors, you step into the bright and cozy living room with the white old beams and a fully equipped open kitchen. There is wireless internet available, TV and DVD. Because of the ceiling in the living room that has been removed, beautiful light falls in from the skylights and you have a view of the roof structure with the old round hoods. The beds are located on top of the two lofts. The comfortable double bed is accessed by an open staircase. The other loft, where a third or fourth bed can possibly be made, is only accessible by flexible guests via a ladder. It is not suitable for small children because of the danger of falling, but older children find it exciting to sleep there. Please note, the two lofts share the same large open space. Under the old beams, you can sleep peacefully, where only the sound of rustling trees, whistling birds or your deliciously snoring bedmate will be heard. The room is heated by central heating, but also only the wood-fired stove can heat the cottage comfortably. You will be provided with enough wood from us to start a cozy fire. Through an old stable door in the living room, you come to the bathroom with beamed ceiling and underfloor heating. The bathroom has a good shower, double sink and toilet. With its inlaid mosaics and all kinds of funny and old details, this space is also a feast for the eyes. There are two bicycles available for nice trips in the wider area (Harlingen, Franeker Bolsward). We may want to drop you off in Harlingen for a crossing to Terschelling. You can leave the car in our yard for a while. We, ourselves, live in the farmhouse which is in the same yard. We are available for help, information and advice for fun trips in our beautiful Friesland. Your cottage and our farmhouse are separated by our garden and the big old barn (with pool table), so we both have our own space and privacy. Kimswerd, located on the eleven city route is a small, quiet and beautiful village where our Frisian hero "de Grutte Pier" was born and lived. He still watches over us, in petrified form, at the beginning of our little street, next to the centuries-old Church, which is very much worth visiting as well. You can do your shopping in Harlingen, the supermarket is a fifteen minute bike ride away. The old port of Harlingen is 10 km from our cottage. Kimswerd is located just across the Afsluitdijk. From there, follow the signs N31 Harlingen/Leeuwarden/Zurich and take the first exit at Kimswerd, 1st right at the traffic circle, 1st right again at the next traffic circle, straight ahead at the intersection, across the bridge and immediately take the first left (Jan Timmerstraat). At the beginning of this street, next to the church, stands the statue of the Grutte Pier. We live in the farmhouse behind the church, Jan Timmerstraat 6, first wide gravel path on the right. - For small children, sleeping on the loft without a fence is not advisable because of the danger of falling. It's just fun for big kids, the loft is accessible by a ladder. Please note, it is 1 large open space upstairs with no privacy.

De Oude Smederij

Enjoy and relax in the Frisian countryside? This is possible with us in De Oude Smederij, which was formerly a forge but has been completely renovated into a comfortable vacation home. The Oude Smederij is located in an agricultural area on the outskirts of the village of Arum (on the Elfsteden route) and is centrally located between Harlingen (on the Wadden Sea with ferry services to Vlieland and Terschelling), Franeker (Planetarium and Frisian Museum), Bolsward (Broerekerk) and Makkum, located on the IJsselmeer with boulevard and beach.

“Koesen” means sleeping well in Frisian. And that will be possible in the comfortable beds, made up with luxury bedding. In addition, "it Koeshûs" is a charmingly decorated and quietly located accommodation, equipped with all the luxuries, with 4 bedrooms. The loft living room with open kitchen is located on the 2nd floor with an adjoining beautiful roof terrace. On the ground floor is your spacious bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath. There is free parking at the door. The bustling city center is within a few minutes' walk.

Beautiful place to relax in Workum

This lovely apartment, located on the first floor, has beautiful views over the countryside, is right on the water and offers plenty of privacy. Through the front door, you enter a spacious hall where you walk up the stairs and enter the apartment. Through the hallway, you reach the bedroom with a comfortable double box spring bed. Opposite the bedroom is the toilet with the spacious bathroom next to it. At the end of the hallway is the spacious cozy living room with kitchen and also two sleeping places.

Relax and unwind in our beautiful vacation home with views over the Jan Durkspolder. Enjoy the silence! With a private deck and completely unobstructed view, you have plenty of privacy! The cottage is modernly furnished and is equipped with luxury box spring beds, rain shower and excellent WiFi The surrounding area is great for cycling, hiking or boating. We have canoes and bicycles for rent. The cottage is located on a small-scale recreational site with 5 cottages and space for 10 campers.

The Landscape

In this luxurious spacious home, you will experience rural life at its best! With a magnificent view over the countryside in the characteristic landscape of the Frisian Forests, it is wonderful to relax. Even from your bed, you can enjoy the great views and a beautiful sunrise. Who knows, you might spot deer, cows, birds and hares in the meadow. Enjoy the alpacas in the yard. The Landzicht is a great starting point to explore the area. Located near nature reserves, Drachten and the A7.

The luxurious spacious suite is furnished with a cozy sitting area, flat-screen TV, minibar, double box spring, double sink, Jacuzzi, hair dryer, a bathroom with spacious rain shower and a toilet. Every morning, the regional baker delivers a luxurious breakfast. From the suite, you have a unique view of the largest tidal area in the world: the Unesco World Heritage Site "The Wadden Sea". This brand new detached wheelchair-friendly barn house can be found on the unique Longhorn Ranch Hasthem Hoeve with a panoramic view. There are 2 bedrooms for up to 4 people with adapted sanitary facilities and high/low bed. The kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances. The house is on fishing water and is accessible by a small boat. Special are the impressive Longhorn cattle that graze around and where you can get close with our covered wagon safari. (optional)

Rural accommodation on the Frisian Elfstedenroute

Within walking distance of the center of Bolsward, on the Workumertrekvaart, the original Frisian Eleven Cities Route, is our rural farm. In this rural and water-rich environment, we offer you a spacious room, which is equipped with a large double bed, (2x0.90), TV/seating area and a completely new bathroom with Jacuzzi. Extra sleeping accommodation is possible. We have recently created this new space in our former cowshed, which is adjacent to our private home.

We provide a luxurious, varied breakfast, using fresh local products and of course the fresh free-range eggs from our own chickens.

Rural accommodation IT ÚT FAN HÚSKE is located on an idyllic slingerdijkje 15 min cycling from Sneek or the Sneekermeer. The húske is detached, cozy and equipped with every comfort. From the outdoor terrace with canopy, guests can enjoy the HOT TUB, the views, the stars and a fabulous sunrise. The hot tub costs €40 for the 1st day and €20 for subsequent days. We recommend that you bring your own bathrobes, but if necessary, we also have bathrobes.
