VG was our Dad, and this was his home. Dad loved to have visitors and there was always someone calling in and staying overnight. It was hard to keep up sometimes. He was a people person and committed a great portion of his life serving the people of Queensland but most particularly the people of Western Qld. We knew that Dad's home would be the perfect place for visitors to rest for a while and plan their next adventure. We hope you enjoy our little slice of paradise in the Longreach Region.

The parkland right outside is the perfect spot to practice yoga or Pilates & if cooking is not your thing, head into town for a choice of dine in or take it away to enjoy in front of the telly! Located near the hospital and high school. Enjoy a lovely stay in this newly renovated cottage which combines both modern style with an old school charm. Whether you are enjoying the glorious sunsets from the front porch or relaxing after a long day of sight seeing, this has it all. The cottage can sleep six comfortably with new queen beds and a fold out lounge, as well as new split systems throughout the property to satisfy on those hot days. Lefty's Stand

Located just two blocks from the the main Street, its just a short stroll to shops, restaurants, cafes and parks. Lefty's Stand is a beautiful cozy, pet and UV friendly stay in the heart of Longreach. Previously owned by the late Leonard Riddiford, Lefty's Stand has been renovated and decorated to honour one of the few successful left handed shearers of his time. Lefty shore for over sixty years and his family hopes to share some of his story with you during your stay.

The Crackup Sister’s House

The Crackup Sisters house is a unique Outback stay, filled with opportunities to have you laughing! A unique built home, with recycled timbers and furnishings donated from our friends around Australia. Very comfy beds, sheets and towel, hot and cold water and kitchen to whip up ya tucker. Evanston Station Outback Experience (Queen Room)

We are a fully operational sheep station offering rustic yet very comfortable shearing quarters accommodation to suit singles, couples or families. We do not have disable access facilities at this stage. Individual private bathrooms (not en-suited), kitchen and laundry at the quarters. Each room has its own air-conditioning. Authentic, traditional shearing quarters within walking distance to homestead and private airstrip. Continental breakfast is included.

Sunrise Cottage
