Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Winneshiek County

This is a lovely, modern home in a beautiful rural setting on a paved road. We explored Yellow River Forest, and the Lansing and Decorah areas, and relaxed with Netflix back at the house. All the furnishings were comfortable (and new). The home was super clean, house instructions clear and simple. A great stay, and we hope it's available the next time we're in the area.

This wonderful bnb is on the street behind ours. We needed a place to stay while our floors were being redone. We grabbed our dogs and headed down the street. I love our neighborhood. It is so peaceful and private. We are an older couple, so we enjoyed resting and taking time for ourselves. My daughter and her family stayed there with their 2 dogs last summer for a week. They are from CA and loved every minute of it. It is their home away from home. MY cousins and their families stayed there last summer when they came to visit us from Fl and WI. They will all stay there every summer when they come. Thank you, Matthew, for all you did for us. We enjoyed all the wonderful amenities. Pastor Rip and Sandy Baillargeon.

We had a great stay. Host was very responsive and sent clear instructions for checkin. Location was really good for a family reunion we were attending in Caledonia, MN. Whiel the house is on a highway next to a motel, it was very private and quiet in the house. House has 3 bedrooms (each with a queen size bed) as well as a basement with 2 queen beds, so there was plenty of room for all of us. Most of the house was very clean and neat. There were a ton of amenities and the kitchen was very well stocked. The only bad thing was that someone had put away dirty dishes in the cupboards and drawers. Since the guest is supposed to clean all dishes and put them away before leaving, I am assuming that the previous guests did this. However, the cleaners should probably check for this. I would stay here again if visitng relatives in MN.

This was even better in person than the pictures! The location makes it within walking distance to anything you would want to do. The house has great outside space and plenty of room for everyone inside. The house was extremely clean and well stocked with all necessary items for our stay. We will definitely love to stay here again the next time we are in the area!

We have family that lives in Chester and the surrounding area, so this home was perfect for our family of 4 to visit them. There was so much space that there was an entire bedroom that we didn't even use! The house was absolutely spotless, and has been lovingly renovated with every modern convenience possible included. The beds were comfortable, plenty of extra blankets, the bathrooms were squeaky-clean with lots of extra towels. We didn't cook in the kitchen, but there was everything already there that a person could want for a comfortable stay. There was extra food and supplies in the cabinets, a snack tray in the kitchen for guests, a bathroom-products basket for items that may have been forgotten like Q-tips, etc. We've stayed at a lot of rental homes over the years, and I will say that Menno's place is the most well-stocked guest-friendly home I've been in. Surprisingly no road noise inside the house from the highway, either! We will definitely be back. :)

Lena's place is always great, as we have stayed there several times. It has everything you need for a great stay. It has wonderful views.

We stayed here for our 8th anniversary! Felt just like grandmas country home. So quiet and peaceful and the family was so nice! Amazing trout fishing and just what we needed

We came to town for the Crater Race and this place was perfect! We were close to everything but it was quiet and peaceful. It was amazing to have a nice shower and comfortable bed to clean up and rest after running on the beautiful trails in town!

Everything was excellent. We will stay again soon.

Dawn is an excellent host. Her place is spacious, very clean with a full kitchen and full-sized washer and dryer. The bed (I slept in one—was there solo) was very comfortable. The living room space has two comfortable recliners with a TV and good reading light. I was in Elkader for a family funeral and would definitely book with Dawn again.

Linda and Chris were great hosts! The place was clean, extremely comfortable and we felt right at home. Great location in downtown! We highly recommend and we will be back.

Great place to stay. Right downtown and walking distance to everything. It is upstairs that could be tricky for some people but not a problem! Will stay here again.

This was a very nicely designed apartment in downtown Lanesboro where you can easily walk to shops and restaurants. Be forewarned however that you get to the apartment by way of a steep flight of stairs. The coffee shop downstairs is great too.
