Highly recommend staying at this beautiful bach. Had everything we needed for a studio apartment + a portacot was provided for our baby. Gorgeous spot right at the end of the road so felt very private and easy access to the beach. A short walk to the wharf and coffee shop as well which was a plus. Thanks for the great accomodation !

Perfection…in every way. Great communication and Paul was very responsive and accommodating. The place was a slice of heaven and we will definitely be using it every time we travel to Whakatane. Super close to town, with 180 degree ocean views and very respectful quiet neighbours. 10/10 for anyone looking for an amazing place to relax and unwind. Thanks Paul & Nikita and your lovely pet goat Balaagi.

Pohutukawa Paradise

Meg was the perfect host. We had a large family of three generations and Meg’s house was great! Very close to the beach. Fantastic coffee machine with raglan toast coffee beans! Induction oven. Lovely bathrooms. Very comfy beds. In a great spot, close to beach (pity about the weather!) - would definitely book again!

I stayed at Glen's self contained cottage for a night on a road trip around the east cape. the cottage with all of its retro fittings was delightful and I loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves on the nearby beach. Lovely relaxing stay at a classic Kiwi bach. Family holiday with our three kids and we all had a great time kayaking, trying to catch fish, having more success catching mud crabs, going for hikes on the headland, and just relaxing offline. Host Nik is super friendly and responsive, place was exactly what we were expecting and hoping for, and we will be back!! Highly recommend to others who enjoy old school device-free outdoor kids family holidays :)

Amazing house in an even more amazing location. We loved the deck and chairs and easy beach access! Spent a lot of time sitting on deck watching waves, surfers and beach goers. Unit was spotless and kitchen was very well stocked - and I mean very! Loved the Nespresso and frother. Great bed and comfortable living room with a good TV. Had a fabulous dinner at Cadera. Wish we could have stayed longer. It was a bit of a splurge for just the two of us but so worth it!
