What can I say about Kinlay’s place!!! Words cannot do justice to what the experience was. Simple traditional home-very traditional and exactly what was described. But the real deal was Kinlay and her family (Yonten, Kayto and the three dogs - Dema, Aktu, Choktu)- they made the stay brilliant - they made us feel so comfortable that it was like living with close friends - home made food, long chats till late by the fireside sipping Ara. You have set the benchmark in homestays for me and I doubt if anybody will ever better this. I saw one or two negative reviews about this place - I don’t know what they experienced but I would think it is a case of mismatched expectations - if you are expecting luxury, the sanitised professionalism of a hotel then this is not the place you should book. If you are looking for a simple comfortable homestay experiencing the local way of life-then look no further.

Great stay in an authentic Bhutanese homestead. Sangay was a most gracious and hospitable host. We enjoyed our wonderful, home cooked meals and the chance to engage in conversation with both Sangay and her mother.

Location is breathtaking. You will have an amazing view of valley with a peaceful location. Kinley was very understanding on adjusting us into a different location due to distance from Punakha. I highly recommendthis place but for winters be prepared as the valley is very windy and temperature drop below 0

the village stay is right in the middle of Chimi lakhang village. the host welcomed us in their traditional Bhutanese culture. Food was prepared in authentic Bhutanese cusine. 100% homely food. we stayed in top floor it had 1.5 bathrooms (Not attached to room) which was really neat and clean, upto any good hotel standards. Traditional Bhutanese homes do not have the concept of attached bathrooms. the room was a cosy place, though small, it just felt home, clean and tidy. There are no cots in the room & that is the traditional Bhutanese way of sleeping on floor with a really comfortable matress. we had their home made local Arra wine and had a really great time till 11pm at night talking with the hosts in their front porch. it is a stay in Bhutanese Home and it is authentic to just that. they have all the required comforts you need. But if you are expecting a 3star hotel like stay, then you are in for a disappointment. if you want to experience Bhutanese living, this is it.!

Gaselo eco Lodge is located in beautiful surroundings on top of mountain... the monastery in front gives it a spiritual touch... Host is very friendly and helpful... loved the stay❤

We had come across this homestay on Airbnb and decided to center our Bhutan itinerary with this stay and O boy we were not disappointed, infact we were glad to do it. Right from the beginning Tenzing (Ama's son) has been a saver for us, helping us with transportation, guide and permits. He made sure that we were safe and comfortable throughout our trip. Coming to the property, we are happy that we decided to book this. Ama and her family is one of the sweetest people that we have come across. They had provided us with some of the authentic food made with fresh veggies and cereals cultivated at their backyard. Ima datshi, Kewa datshi and carrot soup has been our favorite. Do not miss the sunrise walk across the backyard fields and water stream during your stay. Kardin chela Ama and Tenzing!
