Aloha! I’m Sterling Batson, a film photographer based on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. Originally from Trinidad & Tobago, I honed my craft in NYC before making Hawaiʻi my home in 2018. I have a deep love for nature, being a father, and connecting with incredible people through photography. My passion lies in shooting on film, using analog cameras to slow down and truly capture the essence of a moment. I primarily work with the Mamiya RZ67 medium format camera, creating timeless black & white and color portraits.

My education background is in Digital Media Production from the University of Hawai'i. Throughout my career, I've had the honor of photographing prestigious events like the Ironman World Championship in Kona and the Lavaman Triathlon in Waikoloa, Hawai'i. I specialize in capturing beautiful moments for families, including young children and large groups, ensuring every shot tells a meaningful story. I’ve also photographed hundreds of weddings and created intimate videos that preserve treasured memories. I particularly enjoy collaborating with my husband, who officiates stunning, heartfelt Hawaiian-style weddings and wedding renewals.
