Private Waterfront Cabin

It was a wonderful experience. So relaxing, with beautiful surroundings and with lots of trails if you like adventures. It is a seasonal island, so in October most restaurants and shops are closed. To get your lobster, go right down behind the FisherMan's Coop between 1 and 2 and they will help you out. Would definitely come back to adventure more around the island. Thank you, Mike and Jane, for being great hosts.
A cozy living room features a comfortable sofa and two armchairs, inviting relaxation. Large windows provide a view of the serene water and surrounding trees. A coffee table is positioned centrally, and soft, natural light brightens the space, enhancing the peaceful ambiance.

Eleanor's Cottage

MakaiRating, 5 stars9 months ago
We had a beautiful and relaxing stay at Eleanor’s Cottage! The deck has a stellar view of the sunset over the open water and of the tree lined shore across the way; we enjoyed watching the ferry, lobster boats, mist and tides come and go. Phil and Amy were incredibly welcoming and helpful, and the house was well-appointed, homey, and comfortable. This was our first stay on Vinalhaven, which offered (among other things) a collection of mellow trails meandering near the shores, two quarries to swim in, and a downtown with all the essentials (and some serious gems). We would love to return and would absolutely want to stay here again!

The Cabins at Currier Landing Cabin 3: Pine

AlleRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Can’t say enough amazing things about our stay! The cabin and property are so thoughtfully designed and laid out, it’s so peaceful and relaxing. David & Bill shared local recommendations prior to our trip and all of them were 10/10 - from restaurants to general stores, everywhere we went was a standout. We knew going into it we’d be about an hour from Acadia, so the drive didn’t bother us. We spent our days in Bar Harbor and our evenings near the house, eating at incredible local spots exploring the Sedgwick area. The local snacks upon arrival were really the cherry on top.

Camp Binna Burra-tenting with touch of luxury

CarrieRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Carol’s camp at Binna Burra was exactly what my husband and I needed for a weekend getaway! Carol is kind, welcoming and ensured that we had everything we needed to relax in the peacefulness of the outdoors. We fell in love with the Stonington/Deer Isle area. Absolutely gorgeous! We were able to eat at the restaurants that Carol recommended and by the end of our stay we felt like a local! Everyone in the town is extremely friendly! We look forward to coming back as soon as we are able!

Oceanview Escape near Maine Beaches

FredRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Abby’s place is in a peaceful wooded coastal setting and in a great location for exploring the mid-Maine and Rockland areas. We felt right at home with everything we needed, even for steaming a few lobsters fresh off the boat at Owls Head Lobster. The bed was super cozy and comfortable. The view of bay gave us some wonderful sunrises. There was lots to see and do in Rockland, Tomaston, and Camden which are all nearby. We highly recommend staying at Abby’s place.

Gathering Moss Cottage

MonikaRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Gathering Moss cottage was a wonderful place to stay and experience Stonington. A very cozy cabin in a fantastic setting on a hill overlooking the Harbor. The cabin is as described and there were no unpleasant surprises. It’s a small, basic cabin with plenty of charm and a laidback vibe. The kitchen is clean and well stocked with utensils and cookware. Belinda was welcoming, kind and a generous host. Though her house is close to the cabin, she is respectful of boundaries and leaves you to your business. You wouldn’t even know she’s there unless you need something. The location is absolutely perfect as you can walk down to the Main Street, yet you have peace and quiet and splendid view. I would definitely stay at Gathering Moss again!
