Vacation rentals in Victoria Hill Settlement

This was our second stay at Grotto Bay Beach house and it was still great. The location is stunning, with an excellent cove and snorkeling just down from the house. Recommend a rental car to drive to town and around the island, though roads around the house are quite rough. Karen is kind and gives local recommendations and information and Nicola, the local housekeeper, met us at the house to let us in and show us around. She is an excellent source of information and so friendly. The house is beachy and casual, with linens and basic kitchen and bath supplies, as well as some snorkeling equipment. Great wifi, but local phone service did not work (though a local Bahamas SIM card worked great on cell phones) and did not try to use the TV. The AC worked off and on, though the weather meant we didn't need it, though we did keep the door and windows closed to keep out the no-see-ums (tiny biting flies) at night. A great value and highly recommend for the excellent location!

Right on the beach, beautiful views. The home was clean and comfortable. The kitchen lacks some items that you would need for cooking or baking. There is no WiFi at this location. There were only 2 bath towels and 2 beach towels and we were there for a week. We didn’t find any hand towels. There was also limited toilet paper and paper towels. We had to purchase some for our stay. All that said, the place was convenient for our stay. Note that there are no addresses on this island and the directions to the house could be better explained.

Raymond and Michael host a dynamite & efficient spot for someone who wants to engage kitesurfing at the Turquoise jewel called Snow Bay. The apartment was perfect for resting, making a meal, cleaning up, WiFi and/or Netflix chilling after a day on the lagoon. Easy access to gorgeous beaches and snorkeling on low wind days. I appreciated that they offered a car rental which a guest needs to get to the kitespot (~30 minute drive), making grocery run. (~10 minute drive). I’ll be back again for sure!

We had a wonderful stay at this location. It was extremely private and picturesque. The best part was all of the helpful information Wally, the host, provided. the information he provided made a very remote island much more accessible!

Marilyn and her family took exceptional care of us. nephew charles picked us up at airport and took us grocery/wine shopping on our 25 min drive to house. saw zero people in 7 days, had the beach&view to ourselves. used the brand new bikes once to ride to Mexico Olympic flame park/Columbus cross. but there was no coffee/s&p/spices. luckily we requested drinking water(we had no car). absolutely breathtaking location, safe to swim, sunsets good lounge and patio furn, but the sandfleas kept us inside on calmer days. bring icaridin!! day 1 we had over 100 bites/welts each until deet arrived which only slowed them down. bring icaridin!! 4 power outages, longest lasting 6 hrs. bed was too hard for me. major disappointment we could not risk opening windows at all as sandfleas smaller than screen mesh so couldn't hear the ocean at night. sad we have to say because of fleas we would not return despite probably the best location and people we ran across in 20 yrs of travel

After staying in many places throughout San Salvador, this property stands out as the absolute best experience - not even close. The house is exceptionally modern and clean. Every amenity worked perfectly, from AC to fixtures. The pool is pristine, which is rare on San Salvador. Great kitchen and barbecue setup. Unbeatable location with beautiful beaches just two minutes away. The hosts went above and beyond. When we had island emergencies, they connected us with the right local people. They provided an excellent guide and referred an outstanding chef. This is the premier accommodation on San Salvador. Modern, clean, perfectly located. Would absolutely stay again. Highly recommended!
