Cottage vacation rentals in Vélez-Málaga

Peaceful stay for a week. Beautiful elevated location with panoramic views. Rocabella restaurant at the bottom of the track was great if you dont feel like venturing out far, with a varied menu from light bites to main dishes with burgers, steaks and fish.. My advice would would be to grab some basic groceries from a supermarket prior to going up to the house i.e coffee, bread eggs , drinks etc. I travelled with my ederly mother and the accomodation was suitable for our needs as she is unable to manage steps. There is one twin room downstairs with a bathroom and walk in shower which is next to the kitchen , lounge and outside patio so easy access for her with limited mobility. its would not be suitable for a wheelchair however. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with doors opening onto a patio with table and chairs, perfect for your morning coffee to relish the sun rise and sunsets, and also affording privacy if travelling with others in your group. I throughly enjoyed my stay. 😊

At Casa Lopez, we stayed for 1.5 months as 5 adults, a child, and a dog. Occasionally, we were up to 10 people, but space was never an issue. The villa is beautiful with stunning views of the mountains and surroundings. The mountain road to the villa adds charm, and the place feels comfortable and safe—even accessible with a Fiat 500. The villa is more spacious than the photos suggest. Rafael, the host, showed us all the amenities: pool, Jacuzzi, and game room—all in perfect order. We also worked from the villa using the internet without any issues. The area is picturesque, close to beaches, mountains, and towns, with plenty to do. The hosts are very kind and helpful, even recommending a mechanic when needed. After 1.5 months, we still felt their warmth and friendliness. Leaving Casa Lopez was emotional for us. So, I recommend the villa for vacations, as well as a place where after work you can open some wine and jump into the pool. I wish everyone an equally wonderful stay.

We had a really great time in Madre Tierra. Rafa welcomed us and was really helpful for any request we had. The house is comfy, calm and with a great view, close to nice mountain paths. Totally recommended. Thanks again Rafa!

Wir hatten ein traumhaftes Wochenende im Monte Naturivo! Die Unterkunft liegt inmitten wunderschöner Natur und ist der perfekte Ort, um zur Ruhe zu kommen. Alles war absolut sauber und sehr gepflegt – man merkt, wie viel Liebe hier in jedes Detail gesteckt wird. Besonders begeistert waren wir vom tollen Pool, dem entspannenden Hamam und dem wunderschönen Yoga-Raum – ideal zum Abschalten und Wohlfühlen. Die Gastgeberin war unglaublich freundlich und herzlich, wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an willkommen gefühlt. Monte Naturivo ist wirklich ein besonderer Ort, den wir jedem wärmstens empfehlen können.

Just retuned from a 1 week stay at the Cassita! Lovely and peaceful with beautiful surroundings and plenty to do if you’re happy to drive. Our two children loved the pool too. Kila was very responsive and friendly and we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Thanks again.

The perfect stay at Cristina’s beautiful house in Pampaneira! The town was gorgeous and we felt right at home! Cristina’s instructions were easy to follow and the house had everything you needed and more. Also provided flexible check out times which was a bonus! Will definitely be visiting again :)

We stayed here for 4 weeks (family of 3) and it was the most wonderful holiday! So peaceful and quiet, well equipped house and a lovely pool. The beds are really comfortable and the aircon in the bedrooms was brilliant. Cómpeta is a beautiful town and worth a visit. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Dit huisje met zwembad (én jacuzzi!) bovenop de berg in Coín is echt een paradijs. Ideaal voor een ontspannende gezinsvakantie. De weg ernaartoe is wel pittig, maar eens je dat gewoon bent, is dit de perfecte uitvalsbasis voor uitstapjes naar Malaga, Ronda, Marbella, Granada, …

I cannot rate this place high enough. It’s a slice of heaven and a place of dreams. If you want to get away from the world but be close enough to be in Malaga within 15 minutes, I don’t think you can do better. The work and effort that Juan and Ana have put into this place is outstanding. It’s secluded, it’s peaceful, it’s surrounded by beautiful vistas. It’s only 15 minutes from the outskirts of Malaga, but you feel in your own, private world. From here I visited Malaga, Ronda, Cordoba and Granada. I also spent days doing nothing at all, just laying by the pool or swimming, relaxing in peace and reading. It’s such a wonderful place. May I please say a particular thanks to Juan, who is the most charming and friendly host you can hope to meet. The pride and passion he has for the home and the area is incredible. He was an absolute pleasure. Kind hearted and patient while I practiced my terrible Spanish on him. I look forward to returning and miss being there already.

Der Aufenthalt in der Unterkunft "Las Lavaderas" von Angel war hervorragend. Durch die ruhige und private Atmosphäre haben wir uns bestens erholt. Ein perfekter Ort zum Entspannen. Das Haus ist mit allem was man braucht ausgestattet. Die Kommunikation mit Angel funktionierte perfekt, freundlich und stets zeitnah.

This was one of the best holidays we have had. The mountains are incredibly beautiful, the town is not too far away, Malaga is great for beaches, town, restaurants, shopping and history! Juan is very friendly and happy to help and manager Jenni is always on hand to answer questions and visit to make sure that everything is going smoothly. The pool is compact but still wonderful for a dip at any time. It is clean and very well maintained. The terrace is beautiful to sit at all times. This is a wonderful place. Thank you for our stay!

José was an amazing host, always responsive and the villa was unbelievable. The views were incredible and everything matched the pictures so perfectly but was even more spacious than we thought. Would come back again and recommend to anyone 100%

We had a wonderful stay. The place was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. The views were lovely, and we especially enjoyed the outdoor seating and BBQ area (only issue was that it was too windy to use the parasol so no shade). The nearby town was really beautiful and quaint too. Eyal and his family were fantastic hosts—warm, welcoming, and great to communicate with.

Der Aufenthalt war einfach super! Wir haben uns von Anfang an sehr wohl gefühlt. Unsere Gastgeber waren stets hilfsbereit und die Lage des Hauses war atemberaubend und sehr ruhig. Die Aussicht war einfach traumhaft egal ob vom Pool aus oder von der Terrasse! Auch die Einrichtung war sehr gut abgestimmt und ließ keine Wünsche offen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Ich war mit meiner 17 Jahre alten Hündin, zu Gast bei Rosa Maria. Es war für uns eine tolle Zeit. Das Haus ist zwar recht abgelegen, und ohne Auto schwer zu erreichen , aber wir haben die Ruhe und Idylle sehr genossen. Morgens beim Frühstück der schöne Blick auf das Meer , und am Abend bei einem Glas Rotwein unschlagbare Sonnenuntergänge. Für uns war es genau das Richtige 🤗 !

Heerlijk rustig verblijf gehad, Valentina is een vriendelijke host en geeft je overzichtelijke en handige instructies. Granada is op goede afstand met de auto te bereiken, zeker een accomodatie die ik kan aanbevelen!

Pablo is a good host, very friendly and responsive. Our coffee pot broke the first day and he came by within 20 minutes to replace it. The house is basic but comfortable and has everything you need. Location and views amazing! Didn’t find the road up as scary as other reviews and it was a quick 10 min ride to the beautiful village of Frigiliana. All the restaurants we dined at were fabulous! Very nice place if you want peace & privacy. Our dogs loved it!

I cannot recommend Catalina as a host, highly enough. Her place is spotless, beautifully, decorated, and practical. It has everything you could possibly need from the kitchen to the bathroom to the living room , to the bedroom. It is a peaceful, beautiful, serene place to stay So much so that I often did not want to leave it. Catalina is extremely responsive as a host and anticipates all of your needs. As a host myself, I appreciate all of her efforts and recommend her place very highly.

A wonderful villa in a wonderful location. So tranquil and relaxing. No road noise, not overlooked and beautiful views. Everything jn the house is of high quality, particularly the kitchen. So much space, we loved it. We were there in April and the weather was a bit hit and miss. The pool was a bit chilly, but we still went in every day.

Elena ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie hat uns auch gute Tips gegeben, zum Beispiel wie man in Málaga kostenlos parken kann. Wir haben den Aufenthalt in ihrem Appartement sehr genossen. Es liegt sehr ruhig und etwas weiter weg vom Ort Cártama. Es ist klein, wie es beschrieben ist, aber völlig ausreichend. Den Garten haben wir abends beim Sonnenuntergang und morgens beim Frühstück geliebt. Vielen Dank für die Zeit!

Really lovely spot with amazing, large pool, that you can actually swim in, even with a group of eight, outdoor seating to relax and enjoy views. Our group appreciated all the separate bathrooms and cooking indoors and out and eating on the balcony. Host was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended! Malaga, Marbella, and Granada are all about an hour to an hour and a half away. El Torcal ( remarkable rock formations on a hike) is only 1 hour. Walkable little market for beer/wine. We came by car, so not sure about public transportation. Do be aware that there is no dishwasher, but the lovely unique dishes are great. Occasionally you hear neighboring dogs , but the road is quiet. I especially recommend going to Museo Etnológico de Riogordo a little local museum about Andalusian culture/ historical life it is a gem off the tourist beaten path. Enjoy! Our Family loved our time:)

Just arrived back from a wonderful week at Steph and Terry's home. The weather was amazing so we took full advantage of the beautiful pool in the most fabulous location. The property is set amongst the mountains and whilst remote it's not too far from the main road for visiting the surrounding area. For myself and my partner it ticked all the boxes as we love nature, watching the wildlife and the quiet of the mountains where we could relax away from our busy lives. Steph and Terry were always there to answer any questions and give recommendations. The Al In Carhire company recommended by them was extremely easy and value for money. Thank you to Steph and Terry for making our holiday special.

Wij hebben extreem genoten van het verblijf bij Elina. Het uitzicht was geweldig en het privé zwembad heerlijk. De ruimte was heel schoon en alles wat je nodig hebt was aanwezig. Het matras van het bed kan wel wat moderner. De eigenaren van de airBNB waren erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam, fijne mensen om bij te verblijven!

Wij hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf bij Maria en Oliver. Ze zijn vriendelijk, gastvrij en heel behulpzaam, en hebben goede tips voor restaurants en uitstapjes. Het appartement is mooi ingericht, met een fijne keuken, een bbq en goede bedden. Er stond zelfs vers fruit (deels uit eigen tuin) en een fles wijn op ons te wachten bij aankomst! Een leuke verrassing. Het privé-terras heeft een fantastisch uitzicht en er is een schoon en fijn zwembad om lekker in af te koelen. Je kunt gebruik maken van de prachtige tuin, die nu (begin mei) prachtig in bloei stond (olijf-, avocado-, citroen- en sinaasappelbomen, bloemen…). We hebben vanuit het appartement een dag Granada bezocht, dat is goed aan te rijden. Ook hebben we gewandeld en de mooie bergdorpjes van de Alpajurra bezocht, én in de Middelandse zee gezwommen. Wij hebben afgelopen week echt genoten van ons verblijf in dit kleine paradijs, en komen graag nog een keer terug.
