Very good for a relaxing weekend, we enjoyed the hot tub and had a fun time making smores and listening to the frogs, SO private and cozy!

This is our third time staying at Shirley and Gary's retreat and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the lake. It was the perfect size for my family and the boat dock and covered porch are both great retreats. The kitchen was very well stocked. The washer and dryer are great to have for lake towels and bathing suits. The beds are comfortable and towels are well stocked. The living room is very comfortable and TV has streamed services. The lake is just a short walk down a wide trail. We were able to fish under the covered dock and caught several catfish. We were also able to dock our boat and go out fishing and there is ample space to store fishing and tubing supplies when docked for the day. We recommend a wagon to help carry items to the dock. Thanks so much Shirley and Gary, we will return again!

loved our stay here! couldn't have asked for better host! very friendly and helped with anything you needed.. including things that weren't even mentioned at all. The house is beautiful, very peaceful and a easy walk to the lake. We loved everything about this house and will hopefully be back very soon. One of the best parts and I hope it doesn't change is the check in and check out time. most places are 4pm check in and 10am check out...the host literally lets you enjoy your first day and gives you time to prepare to leave the last day. We came to the region for a family birthday party nearby and had a wonderful stay at Austin's place. Our only regret is that we were not staying longer. The home is a perfect place for a family getaway with easy access to regional recreation opportunities and direct access to Kerr Reservoir and trails. The house even comes with a dock and some equipment for watersports! We were a group of six, and there was more than enough space for comfortable rest and relaxation. The pool table and movie theater were highlights for the kids. Beautiful kitchen and grilling area on the deck. Everything was new and immaculately clean! We hope that we have cause to return. We had a great time. The house is spacious and the lake is wonderful. This is the most well equipped rental that we have ever stayed in. They could use a trash can upstairs and a few serving spoons. The hosts are very friendly and helpful! We'd love to go back again!

Clayton’s place was the epitome of a classic American 4th of July! We had 7 in our group plus a baby and we couldn’t have had a better time. The house is a dream and has everything you could need as we cooked all of our meals there and even used the smoker! Also the trail to the dock was directly across from the driveway and was so easy to access with the golf cart. If anything the pictures undersold the reality of how beautiful this place was for a summer holiday. We plan to return with the same group every year from now on! This place is where traditions are made. Would highly recommend for your trip to Kerr Lake. Also use Kerr Lake Adventures for any water craft rentals - we were able to keep our boat at Clayton’s dock for the duration of the trip! Brian from Kerr Lake adventures dropped off/ picked up the boat from the dock as well - so convenient! We can’t wait to come back!

The place was very nice. Very clean. Perfect place to stay if you are visiting the lake that has a covering for your boat.

Cute cottage and a cute town. Ended up booking during the town’s annual lake fest and very nice. Great cottage and was a bed a breakfast. Bonus although we were there for the lake so went out early the days we were there. Would book again

Jeff’s place was perfect for our weekend getaway! Great location, close to the campground. The dock was a lifesaver as the weather wasn’t great but sitting on the dock with a blanket and a coffee (or beer) was extremely peaceful! We will be back!

My kids and I went for Memorial Day weekend and absolutely loved it!! The kayaks, dock and lots of sunshine. My children are already wanting to plan another trip 😊 Thank you for the wonderful memories!

Comfy beds decent pillows. Quite small but cozy. The included breakfast at the restaurant is nice.

Me and 7 friends stayed here for blue ridge rock festival this year. Despite the festival being a total crap show and us only getting to enjoy 1 1/2 days of the festival, we got to enjoy this beautiful house. We had plenty of movies and game nights, as well as enjoying each others company by the lake. The view from the living room and kitchen area is amazing. Me and my friends agree our trip was saved because of where we stayed. Thank you Monique for opening up your home to us :)

Perfect location for a lake getaway with friends. We loved the house and thought it was even better than in the photos. Brooke was extremely responsive and had no issues with the stay. Will definitely return!

Everything was great and had ample parking. If I wanted to be picky, the only thing that I did not find, but would have been nice would have been a couple packs of coffee for the coffee maker would have went a long way. We had everything else that we needed, and everything else was comfortable and nice. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Buggs Island.
