I'm a professional Clergy-person, married and living in Manhattan. My husband, Aric, and I have 4 kids between us, and they’re all amazing! We love our upstate house, and try to visit it when we're not renting it out! I play guitar in my spare time, and Aric is a comedian and filmmaker. Our secret dream is one day we can leave our day jobs and perform full time.

June 2022The house is beautiful. It is located in a semi-secluded area with a burbling brook behind the property. You won't really see the next home over from the property, so it's fantastic if that's what you are looking for. The hosts were very prompt to respond anytime I needed anything and they have a book/binder within the home dedicated to helping you find various attractions in the area. I would recommend that you potentially obtain your grocery/pharmacy items before heading to the property since it's about a 30 minute drive to some of these. Also, if you happen to be checking in after sun-down, like I did, really go slow as your navigation is approaching as there is an electrical pole blocking your visualization of the house number until you're pretty much there. If you're traveling with a little one, be mindful that the home does have some antiques. I had a great time with my family there and I would stay here again. There is so much to do in the area.
Two tips on some of the attractions:
1. There is a railroad trail that has 'bikes' made for you to pedal on the rail. It is called Rail Explorers and it looked like a fun thing to do. If that's something of interest to you, I would book it out at least 3 - 4 weeks in advance as it books up.
2. Kaaterskill Falls is a great place to go if you don't mind heights, but if you do, like my family and I, you can still get to enjoy the lower waterfalls. If you are able to have someone drop you at the drop-off point, I would utilize that instead of the trolley which charges you money and drops you off at a point on a mini-highway where you still have to walk at least a 1/4 mile, on the highway, or on cliff-side before you reach the entrance.

June 2022A perfect quiet, secluded house in the woods. You cannot see any neighboring houses from the windows or decks. The stream running through the backyard was endless entertainment for our kids along with roasting marshmallows around the fire pit before bed. Centrally located for Phoenicia, Woodstock, or many hiking trails.

May 2022The house is pretty well reflected in the listing. We had a nice stay for a long weekend, the setup worked well for our family with 2 little kids. This house is deep in the woods and doesn't get much daylight, but beautiful to hear the stream out the window. There were a lot of ants in the kitchen, unfortunately.

November 2021Ayelet’s home is lovely! We stayed over Thanksgiving and made our whole turkey dinner in her kitchen. She had absolutely everything we could need. (We brought our roaster.) The house is roomy with wall-to-wall windows on one side, and we loved the view. We had enough heat and were comfortable in every way. The surroundings are breathtaking. We got a fire going in the fire pit and roasted marshmallows down by the babbling brook. We want to come back in spring or early fall and enjoy the deck and yard even more.
Ayelet answered all my questions within a couple minutes. We had a windy night, and when we lost power, she contacted us to keep us updated on when they expected power to return.
Ayelet’s home is amoung those that get our very highest recommendations.
