Private BBQ and yard with screen tent. Cottage driveway is steep but well maintained; no bikes, please. Muted traffic noise may be noticeable at times. No dogs.

Big Harbour Hideaway

Big Harbour Hideaway is situated on an inlet of the Bras D’Or Lake with little boating activity so it was quiet. The dock is very solid and does not move with the tide, there were four Adirondack chairs on the dock with a few more available near by. Across the inlet is a really nice view of gypsum cliffs. There were bald eagles and even a seal! The house felt comfy and was well stocked with toilet paper, paper towelling, tissue, garbage bags, pots and pans, cutlery, etc. The beds were quite comfortable and although there is no air conditioning the breeze off the water was all we needed to cool the bedrooms at night. Although the house is on a well there was plenty hot water and the water pressure was really good. It felt homelike and it doesn’t get better than that! There is no cable tv, but I believe you can hook up a device to it to watch movies or play games. There is a pretty serious Scrabble game on the coffee table. Baddeck is only 12-14 minutes away by car.

Great stay! Michael was there to personally great us and walk us through the property. House is spacious and clean. Nice views from the front two bedrooms.. Kitchen was well stocked for those who prefer to cook. Good selection of spices. While there are resurants 10-20 minutes away, they all pretty much have the same style of food. So, having the kitchen was great. Didn't get the opportunity to enjoy the property and the lake as we only had a couple days. But if you have time, the lake is beautiful. Our trip was 10 nights throughout NS and PEI. So Bonus having a full size washer/dryer. Nice to travel with not have luggage with a week of dirty clothes. Will stay here again, but longer.

A very lovely and modern place to stay. While compact, it had everything we needed and more! A BBQ and Hot tub were great! The hosts anticipated EVERYTHING and left snacks, USB converters, lint removers and much more for us. The AC and hot tub were on and waiting for us when we arrived. The bed was awesome. Large and very comfy. A great place to stay, needing more than 1 night to enjoy !

Anyone looking for peaceful rustic cabin camping, this is the place! Renee makes the most of tiny cabins, outfitting them with everything that one would need, with thoughtful extra touches. The description explained exactly what one would have, which was just what we wanted. We'd come back in a heartbeat any time we are up in Breton Island. Thank you Deborah for the lovely stay. Deborah's place was very clean and located at a lovely place by the water and so peaceful. ample parking space. also such beautiful surroundings that you take a peaceful walk or just chill by the deck. Beds were super comfy and we were able to have a such a good sleep after long hours of driving and hiking. We had a small issue with setting up the room temperature when we got there and she was so helpful and got everything done in matter of minutes. Such great value for money. Thanks again Deborah and definitely booking again if we visit again..
