Characteristic is the ‘smûke’ scenery with thousands of kilometres of alder, dykswâlen (wooden ramparts) and hundreds of pingos and pools. The area has unique flora and fauna. Biodiversity is high here. A short distance from Groningen, Leeuwarden, Dokkum and the Ydillian Wadden Islands. The area is very suitable for hiking, cycling, canoeing.

Next to our small nature campground is a beautiful holiday home in the middle of nature. Jurjen made the cottage all by yourself and ensured that you can completely relax. The kitchen is a real “Oldtimer” but also with oven. A large dining room table overlooking the storks, a nice sofa to quietly read a book. A spacious shower with a fine jet. The wood-fired Hottub can be rented separately for €90,- for a weekend and €120,- for a midweek/week.

A beautiful part of Friesland, with beautiful sunsets. There are many cycling routes around this area, including the famous ferry route. The parking lot at the water villa has a charging station. Options for a fee and upon availability: bicycle rental, slow car charging, use of the shepherds hut sauna or Swedish hot tub (Størvatt without bubbles, not available in August).

Centrally and rurally located in Friesland, our 6-person vacation home is located. Close to nature reserve the Alde Feanen and close to the water sports village of Earnewald, but our capital Leeuwarden is also easily accessible. Lovely area for biking or walking. In the Alde Feanen, there is plenty to do for water sports enthusiasts. Also a day to one of the Wadden Islands is possible.
