Serene Apartment in a D.C. Rowhouse

This basement apartment is located in a beautiful Victorian rowhouse. Modern white walls and fixtures are contrasted with colorful artwork and vibrant patterns to give each space a relaxing vibe. Cook with local ingredients in the kitchen and curl up with a book on the plush sofa after a day of exploring DC. We live in the main house above the apartment, and are available to help with any questions/issues guests may have. The home is located in Bloomingdale - a great neighborhood with a range of charming cafes, tasty restaurants, and lively bars all within a few blocks. Explore the iconic National Mall and the many museums and memorials DC has to offer, or take in a yoga class around the corner after picking up local produce at the neighborhood farmers' market. The two closest Metro Stations are Shaw/Howard University (Green/Yellow), and NoMa (Red line). Both are about a 10 minute walk from our house. Several bus stops are also conveniently located nearby, with service to Chinatown/Downtown, the National Mall, Union Station, Georgetown/Dupont, Logan Circle, etc. If you will be driving, street parking is generally plentiful in our neighborhood, We also provide a visitors parking pass so you don't need to worry about time limits. Please note that the apartment is most suitable for 2-3 adults, though the sofa bed in the living room does sleep 2.

The basement apartment is centrally located close to all the city has to offer - from the monuments and museums to a wide range of dining options and nightlife. It's a 15 minute walk to Noma Gallaudet Metro on the Red Line and a 17 minute walk to the Shaw-Howard Metro on the Green line. Easy stroll to historic U Street and the Union Market neighborhood. On-street parking is available with permit. Flexible check in/check out.

Perfect open space for 1-2 guests. Comfy king-sized bed, couch, work space, mini fridge, microwave, electric kettle, and Keurig (but not a full kitchen). Private entry, space into basement unit and private bathroom. Near fabulous restaurants/ bars. About 15-min. walk to Metro green line. Note: While suite is private and closed to main home, home has 2 cats—a consideration for those with allergies. Also, it’s an old, connected home with original floors, and thus not soundproof.

We had a lovely stay at David’s place. It was conveniently located a few minutes from my daughter’s apartment in Eckington. The house was one of the better Airbnbs we have stayed in and everyone who visited commented about how nice it was. David was very responsive to any questions and we really appreciated the hand written note and the bottle of wine and cider left for us. We walked everywhere, including to the museum and the mall area. There are some good restaurants in the area and the Noma station is on the same street 13 min away. There is a gas station with bright lights right across the street but the curtains and the blinds were able to block it mostly. We appreciated the games in the living room and an array of spices and oils in the kitchen, but we did not cook anything.

A comfortable bedroom features a gray upholstered bed with layered linens, two plush green pillows, and neatly arranged white towels. A small table and chair occupy the corner, adorned with a vase of flowers and a piece of art on the wall. Light enhances the inviting atmosphere.

We loved our home away from home for the week, especially how good the A/C was and how nicely put together the basement apartment is. We both agreed that the bed is one of the most comfortable in all of the airbnbs that we’ve stayed at! We didn’t have a vehicle so it was awesome to be so close to bus stops going all 4 directions from the neighborhood. Russell was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. Highly recommend this place and would stay again if we come back to DC area.
