We were lucky enough to meet the owners during our stay and they treated us like family. The view of the lagoon from your bed is an absolutely amazing way to wake up, along with the immediate offer of coffee as soon as you open your door. They easily arranged an afternoon boat trip for us to beautiful, quiet swimming spot in the mangroves at the edge of Willpatu National Park. They can arrange other activities such as kite-surfing, we just didnt have enough time. Our room was great! The bed was very comfortable and the outdoor bathroom was a fantastic touch. Upon arriving we were greeted by Rosie, one of the friendliest dogs we've ever met. All the meals we had there were extraordinarily delicious. Be sure to get the pumpkin curry if it's available. It was one of the best dishes we had on our entire trip. We strongly recommend this property for anyone who needs to unwind and relax. We can't wait to visit again!

We loved staying here! Susantha and his family have created a really cool and beautiful place with a very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Our room was really comfortable and clean and we enjoyed having a private place to relax as well as spending time in the communal areas meeting other travellers. Although this is a spot for kite surfing we came here to just relax away from a busy tourist beach (it's a very quiet area with a tiny town) and for this it was perfect. We felt so welcomed by Susantha, his family and the other travellers that it felt like home. We hope to come back one day and learn to kite surf, we've been inspired :)

Susantha is a lovely character, hang out with her guests, talk a lot and laugh all the time. His mom cooks amazingly good dinners. Breakfast is pretty good. I switched from backpacker room which was small to a cabana with its own bathroom and shower because it was better value.

We couldn’t recommend staying at Ruuk Village more. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the private area at the front is relaxing and pretty, and the private bathroom is in keeping with the whole theme of the village. Our stay was made even better by the staff, who were always attentive, and the food provide was delicious - the authentic Sri Lankan dinners and breakfasts were brilliant. Don’t come here if you’re looking for 5* hotel treatment, but DO come here if you’re looking for friendly, flawless treatment with rustic, charming rooms only metres from beautiful views. All in all, we couldn’t recommend Ruuk Village highly enough.

Paradise located right on the clean and host-maintained beach, pleasantly manageable number of guests, pleasantly good restaurant with breakfast and dinner, beautiful loungers on the beach or in front of the room... always clean, well-maintained and tidy. The atmosphere is relaxed, very friendly and relaxing. The host is great — one of the nicest, most attentive, and kindest on all our worldwide trips. Great nature in the area... paradise for kiters, swimmers and divers…. Nice restaurants in the neighborhood and a great vegetable shop at the Juice Bar. We had a wonderful extraordinary time!

The welcome was very warm. Upon arrival, the tent was not ready, due to the fact that we had booked last minute. We got a drink while waiting and an explanation of the location regarding possibilities for food and excursions. The staff was super friendly, the location was great and the food was also excellent. The fact that we could do the safari in Wilpattu from this location made the picture complete. Highly recommended!

We actually wanted to use colombo here for 3 days to rest and bathe here for 3 days. 3 became 6 days and a beginner kitesurfing class. It's definitely a kitesurfing hotspot, but no matter who comes..all are immediately welcomed into the big family. You grow together quickly...oh it was really nice with all of you. Breakfast and dinner make the mom and we enjoyed it very much! Of course, you can also eat outside! Susantha is always available for questions. The cabanas are simple but romantic. Those who are afraid of bugs,frogs and geckos are not in good hands here. 🤗We say: Thank you
