If you want fantastic and traditional Japanese food in Vancouver, this is the place to go. Koko is one of the original sushi restaurants in the area and the inventor of the BC roll.

One of the oldest sushi restaurants in Vancouver. Tatami rooms and kimono clad servers. Excellent sushi, and not pretentious.

This restaurant has good sushi and charming private screened tables. It is traditional to remove your shoes before entering the screened tables. It is very very close if you are hungry.

This is the oldest Japanese restaurant in Vancouver. Great sashimi and a bit pricer than the normal, but worth it in quality

Only a 15 minute walk from The Alcove is KOKO, one of Vancouver's most famous Japanese restaurant & sushi bar. KOKO offers traditional cuisine in a relaxed space with tatami rooms. The Koko Maki is my favourite roll in town. The Jumbo Dynamite is a close second. Those two rolls together are the backbone of every excellent meal. Koko's is the best sushi in Vancouver. And I've been to most.
