The best old pub in the city. A great choice of amazing ales and the food is spot on. A place to go to watch live sports events. This pub is dog friendly (on the ground floor) so if you don't mind 4 legged friends saying hello, its a must for a visit. Takes about 40 minutes to walk to this place. Take a cab there (approx £6-£7), and enjoy a nice evening stroll back along the river and back of the race course. Moderate prices on the food, but sometimes offer 2 for 1 on burgers mid week (phone ahead for their offers)

Traditional English pubs; think log fire and locals at the bar!

Traditional pub food, shows sports, good atmosphere - on Lower Bridge St - first pub you reach over the Old Dee Bridge (very very old…)

Just on the other side of the bridge after the stone gate on the left. Excellent winter pub with good beer and great wholesome food (definitely try their pie!). Try and reserve the small table by the fire if you like.
