The 'cheeserie' is a great place to visit to see how the famous SSI goat cheese is made. Take a stroll into the barn and watch the goats for a while. Taste the cheeses paired with locally made preserves. Pack a picnic lunch and have a picnic in the garden or overlooking the farm.

In the farm shop, all of the cheeses are available for tasting and sale. You are free to wander around the farm, see the animals and enjoy the scenery. You can watch the cheese being made through the viewing windows and take a self-guided tour through the cheesemaking process. In the Summer they offer a delicious lunch menu! Otherwise, I highly recommend picking up picnic supplies on your way to the beaches in the South end. Check out their website for hours saltspringcheese dot ca / visit us

Salt Spring Island Cheese Company makes both sheep and goat milk cheeses. Visit the charming farm and sample all the cheeses. There are windows into every room, so you can also see the entire cheesemaking process from start to finish.
