you can go to Shijyo Kawaramachi station in Cetral part of Kyoto for 30min,400yen. Also you can go Umeda station in 7min, 190yen

If you want to get to Kyoto Gion area, this is the fastest way. You can take the local Kawaramchi train one stop to Awaji station and then wait for the express train in the same direction to get there a little faster. You can also head in the opposite direction to Umeda or Kobe. For Kobe change at Juso Station or Umeda.
