If you read up about Salvos you'll find out how popular it is, it's grown into almost celebrity status. Local italian family setup so expect Yorkshire Italiana accents! To be honest it is just too popular and busy and for me it's undoing I'd rather go to Salvos Salumeria cafe next door for a snack and coffee.

Salvo's is our local award-winning Italian. It was voted the UK's best neighbourhood Italian restaurant on Gordon Ramsay's TV show The F Word and it's been in the Dammone family since 1976. Need we say more?

Now considered a Headingley institution, Salvo's first opened its doors in 1976 and has been packing in customers ever since for it's great buzzy atmosphere, friendly service and a wonderful selection of traditional and more contemporary Mediterranean cuisine. Regularly featured in the Good Food Guide, Salvo's is a former Yorkshire Evening Post Family Restaurant of the Year and after 30 years continues to receive plaudits from numerous prestigious national publications. Salvo's has been voted one of the top Italian Restaurants in the UK by The Sunday Times, The Times, Olive Magazine and The Observer, and in October 2009 Salvo's won Best Local Italian Restaurant on Gordon Ramsay's programme 'The F Word'. As Salvo's has recently celebrated its 38th Birthday it shows no signs of slowing down and remains the archetypal Italian Neighbourhood Restaurant.
