Why locals recommend it
When I think of La Palma, I think of Christmas, family, and happy times. There isn’t a year that goes by that my family, along with half the Mission district, doesn’t grab a huge order of tamales from La Palma during the holidays. This place has been around for decades, and for good reason: It’s half Mexican food market, half taquería and 100% the ish. They may be famous for their tamales, but don’t miss the traditional Mexican pozole soup they make on weekends. It’s insanely delicious!
Tips from locals
Hole in the wall with excellent authentic Mexican food and their own tortilla factory. Primarily take-away service.
Fabulous hispanic deli cross street Florida. A SF icon and may be the best authentic store / deli on the west coast. Amazing moles to buy pre packed, burritos, tacos to go.
