Tsar Paul built the palace but only lived here for 40 days before being killed during a coup. Now the Russian Museum has taken custodial duties of the building. Look out for the special tours to see his private chambers

Former royal residence. Was built as a residence for Emperor Paul I by architects Vincenzo Brenna and Vasili Bazhenov in 1797-1801. The castle looks different from each side.
