The biggest historical armoury in the world! Come face to face with the history of Styria at the Styrian Armoury. The armoury’s task was to have ready the arms needed to defend the province from invaders, should the need arise. The five-storey building in Herrengasse was a weapons depot: today, you can truly immerse yourself in the extraordinary atmosphere of the armoury just as it was centuries ago.

The Landeszeughaus in Graz was once the central arms depot in Styria (built between 1642 and 1647). It served to equip the Styrian state contingent to ward off attacks by the Ottoman Empire. With its 32,000 exhibits of all kinds, the state armory is the largest armory in the world, which has largely been preserved in its original state.
