They offer really good quality wines and they have a very nice exterior area where you can taste wine with a wonderful view over the vineyard. El Grifo is established as the oldest winery in the Canary Islands (founded in 1775), the 5th oldest in Spain, and the only known winery that has produced wines for almost 250 years without interruption. We strongly suggest visiting it and tasting some of their wine. The vineyards at El Grifo have produced malvasía wines since the end of the XVIII century. They are situated in the protected area of La Geria, in San Bartolome, an area covered with volcanic ash after the eruptions between 1730 and 1736.
