Voted one of Belfast’s top attractions by TripAdvisor, Crumlin Road Gaol is a sight to behold. Closed for business in 1996 after 150 years, today it is host to everything from educational tours to weddings and concerts – not to mention claiming to be one of the most haunted sites in Belfast.

Built in 1850, Belfast's notorious Crumlin Road Gaol has imprisoned a whole range of historic figures, from Éamon de Valera to the Reverend Ian Paisley. Check website for up to date covid measures regarding bookings.

The Crumlin Road Gaol dates back to 1845 and closed it's doors as a working prison in 1996.  Take a guided tour of the prison and hear about the history of the site  and visit the underground tunnel that used to connect the gaol to the Crumlin Road Courthouse. 5 min drive. For further information…

I have personally done this tour twice and enjoyed it both times. The tour lasts around 45 minutes and there is a shocking surprise at the end.. :)
