Since 1901 Black River Cheese CO has been making cheese in PEC , plus they have KAWARTHA DAIRY ice cream...cycle there so you don't feel guilty about all the sampling ;)

Another trip - another day - different direction towards Black River Cheese, Waupoos Winery and the County Cider. Both have a restaurant- not sure restaurant opens during week. Its a great drive to follow the shoreline around this eastern side of the island and on way back, there is the Lake on the Mountain.... Just a few options ..

Nice destination, also has kayak rentals nearby on the river.

One of the last local, privately owned cheesemakers. Also sells heaping cones of Kawartha Dairy ice cream.
