The name Nisanzai possibly derives from misasagi, which means a tomb of an emperor or empress. With a mound length of 300 m, Nisanzai Kofun is the seventh largest in the country. The square front section of its keyhole-shaped mound is widely flared, making it the most aesthetically pleasing kofun in Mozu Kofungun. It was originally accompanied by several satellite tombs that once existed in its surroundings. Nisanzai Kofun is the youngest tomb among large-scale keyhole kofun in Mozu and is dated to the late 5th century. It's 20 minutes walk from Nankai Koya line Nakamozu station. From Abikomae station. Abikomae station to Nakamozu station is 12 minutes ride.
