Home to the longest pier in Southern California. OB is a blast from the past with a weekly farmers market on Wednesday evening. OB is what makes San Diego a unique place.

Ocean Beach is a vibrant, bohemian neighborhood, with a classic SoCal beach vibe. Surfers and sunbathers fill the namesake beach, while Ocean Beach Pier is a popular local fishing spot with sweeping views. Nearby, Newport Avenue is lined with antiques shops, beachwear and surf boutiques, organic groceries, taquerias and brewpubs. The Ocean Beach Farmers Market features live music.

A hippy neighborhood on the waterfront that has great beach access/parking and local restaurants. I recommend this area for daytime visits. About 15 minutes drive.

South of Pacific Beach and also South of Mission Beach OCEAN BEACH Immediately south of Mission Beach, Ocean beach (or OB) is sort of the last stand in San Diego of the 1960’s and 1970’s Southern California beach town. With many antique shops, beachside bars, and taco stands , pottery and craft shops, and restaurants. Newport Avenue beach (Ocean Beach Pier) is the most popular beach spot in OP. Surfers can surf the south side of the pier, but just yards north of that is a broad sandy beach that in the summer is full of beach goers, sunbathers, families, swimmers and bodybardes. Street parking is also available on Newport Avenue and the surrounding residential streets. Just a few yards north is a lifeguard tower, with public restrooms and showers, as well as beach volleyball courts. Address: End of Voltaire St, Ocean beach CA 92107
