Tips from locals
If your visit to Durham includes a Saturday, you should plan a weekend morning stop at the Durham Farmers' Market. Local vendors fill the stalls at the Pavilion at Durham Central Park with fresh and locally grown produce, flowers, bakery items, honey, crafts, and artisan foods.
Come out and taste the best produce, crafts, and flowers from vendors located within 70 miles of Durham, NC.
I absolutely love spending my Saturday mornings at the Durham Farmer's Market on Foster Street in Central Park. North Carolina has a long growing season, and there is farm-to-table produce year-round. Look for Jack Pleasant, with the organic bison. He is a cousin of mine. There are also cool local honey stands, fresh-cut flowers and artists galore!
Open Saturday 8am-12pm. Many award-winning local food products such as Boxcarr Handmade Cheese and wonderful variety of fruits/veggies.
