Macrahanish is a championship links course, which would have hosted plenty of tournaments if it was easier to get to. First hole, that requires you to carry the Atlantic Ocean, keeps popping up in "Best 18s" - and it's a beauty. Watch out for the starter "kindly" waving you out to the Tiger Tee - it's so far out on the rocks that they should lay on a rowing boat to get there. Don't worry, the beach is in play, the biggest bunker I've ever seen.

One of the world’s best golf courses, consistently appearing in the top 100 - and certainly the most remote is just half an hour’s drive away

Machrihanish has two courses, a world-class natural 18 hole links and a nine hole course. The Club has a club house, restaurants and bars, some of which are open to the public. there is a golf shop and regular competitions take place. Day-booking is available.

Iconic 18 hole golf course with the "best 1st tee in Scotland". Clubhouse has a bar for after golf refreshment and a bite to eat.
