The actual Sound Garden that inspired the band name, Soundgarden. It's located inside Magnusson Park up in north Seattle.

Listen to the melodies that inspired the name of Seattle's grunge band Sound Garden at the NOAA. This is a government facility that's open to the public so be sure to bring proper ID to enter.

A fun spot in a nice park and the inspiration for the 90's music sensation.

The inspiration of the 1990's Seattle Grunge Band of the same name, this park sits on the point of an ex-Navy submarine base. Yes, a sub base on a lake. A very deep lake. Fins from Nuclear submarines are arranged to whistle melodically in the wind. Pretty unusual for a park, right?

The park where Soundgarden got their name. Sounds play through towers when wind blows and many folks pay tribute to Chris Cornell here as it's make shift memorial
