Everything inside Prozak was selected or built by the owner Orestes, from the wainscoting made from old fabric bolts to the funky graphic design and lighting. The overall effect is a unique microcosm where the traditional Cypriot cafe (with its selection of homemade food and drinks dictated by law) meets beat San Francisco. Hang out at Prozak in the evenings and you’re bound to catch a local band, art opening (there’s a gallery above) or literary event. If you’re into café culture, don’t leave Nicosia without stopping by.

One of my favorite coffee houses in Nicosia with a big book collection. Also serves alcoholic beverages. They make a mean brandy sour!

It is more than a café since it serves local drinks including ouzo, zivania and the Greek retsina together with wine and beer as low as 2.50-4.00€ per glass. If you are not an alcohol fan but a local refreshments lover, lemonade, “triantafillo” (rose milk) or “soumada” are also on offer for as low as 1.50€. Food-wise you can try “ouzo” accompaniments like olives, fetta cheese and other nibbles, a great side-dish to a good drink.
