Agadir is famous for it souks - pop up markets in modern parlance. Souk el Had is one of the largest and richest markets in the area with tons of traditional variety to inspect and buy. Berbére and Moroccan traditional art, carpets, jewelry, food and spices add to a wonderful cultural experience.

Great place to get just about anything you can think of, from fresh vegetables and fruit to soap, detergent, arts & crafts to fresh meat. The souk is extremely well organized with items divided into specific sections. If you are into making your own meals, this is the place to go. A few feet away from the souk (close to the local bus station) is the Agadir fish market, also highly recommended if you want to get the catch of the day. Just know odors are strong here. But don't let that deter you, it is totally worth it. PLEASE NOTE: The souk is closed on Monday.
